As an Australian I congratulate SK. Interesting game. Australia had their chances but did not capitalise on them, and then there's 'Son'. That 'Son' of a Gun offered the best free kick of the tournament after a technical foul from Australia. It was a priceless kick, it's no wonder his Australian Manager at Spurs, Postecoglou values his skill and temperament so highly - he has made a difference at Spurs too. The quality free kick he delivered in extra time, under pressure is typical of Son's consistent world class finesse and style. Good game, disappointing for Australia, deserved result for South Korea.

Even though I support Australia I really want Sonny and SK to break their Asian Cup drought. Both teams are amazing and it was a brilliant game. As for our Socceroos, we still have to polish up our goalscoring department. We defended pretty well. Mat Ryan did mighty job with several word class saves. absolutely gutted because we should have won that. not that Korea were lucky, but that penalty from miller was completely unnecessary. andy harper was talking about how we defended so well the whole game by not diving in and then miller does exactly that in the last minute. then the free kick on the edge of the box was another unnecessary foul. really well played, those mistakes just cost us.

Both Sk and Aus players were inspiring, doing their best all the way. This game was so fun that I found soccer interesting for the first time, which was what even the 2002 Sk-Jp World Cup, held in my neighborhood, failed to. Hope Miller doesn't blame himself badly and learns from the mistake. Everyone makes mistakes, especially when young.

Got to give it to Graham Arnold today. His subs made the real difference in the game. Miller put in a Man of the Match performance and O’Neill just wanted to sit on the pine again. He wasn’t that interested in playing. Quick, nimble and agile Koreans. Arnold with all his genius decides to sub in tall, slow and clumsy defenders to contain them. Good one ;-)
