Australia is not built for direct military conflict as such. We do however have some of the very best deep recon units that are highly specialised in infiltration, sabotage and intel gathering. We are not going to beat you in a stand up fight, but we can put almost anything anywhere in the world before you even know its there.
@grandmothergoose2 жыл бұрын
In regards to a straight up fight, The Battle of Long Tan earned Australia's military a reputation not easily overlooked. 108 men held off and won against over 2000 Viet Cong troops during the Vietnam war. We didn't win Gallipoli in WW1, but our troops certainly did a solid job of holding the line for a long time against the worst possible odds. We may not have the advanced technology of the US military, nor the numbers, but our armed forces definitely aren't wimps, and in the right circumstances we certainly could win a stand up fight if it was a down in the mud soldier to soldier trading bullets type of battle.

U.S. needs to land here for their tanks to be of any use. During WWII Darwin we held off japanese with a small platoon and mostly civilians. In Iraq there was a US platoon were waiting for the bomb squad to dealnwith an IUD . Aussies pulled basically up said "we got this" and blew it by shooting at it. Women here are just as hard core as men, considering the high rate of menopause, i wish any country the best of luck. Women here DON'T take prisoners because we've got to feed the fkrs. We're built different to the rest of the world, men and women. So go for gold! By the way statistics show (2020/2021) Australian civillians spend more on ammo than the US civillians.

This video is very old and so the numbers for Australia have grown a lot, especially what we have on order like nuclear submarines and custom built unmanned aircraft (look up Wingman) It also fails to account for the many many allies Australia has and the harsh coastline and terrain that would make invading very difficult. Another fact not covered is the training, I've heard a lot of soldiers say that the Aussies are the best trained they've ever seen, some vets on KZbin even claiming a single Aussie soldier is on par or better than a US Marine. "If I had to take hell, I would use the Australians to take it and the New Zealanders to hold it." -Erwin Rommel.

I did have a very long winded reply picking apart each of your points, however I’ve decided to just go with this. Australian Army permanent personnel 2019 -25,190 New York State sworn in officers -35,030 That being said, yes our small “professional” force often punches well above its weight when working as apart of an alliance or coalition.

To be precise Australia Has About 2000 Nuclear subs, I remember them being built in Adelaide as a boy. They are 3 stories high. Massive subs the Public doesn't know about. Australia is protected. We also Implemented Wifi and Quantum Technologies around the world. Australia is defended. If any of the scum Gov's try Attack Australia it will not end with just their chase away, They will be utterly destroyed. The time for games ends.

Given that we'd be fighting for our own country (which always makes a defending army much more determined), any Australian soldier is worth about 8 Americans (this isn't actually that far from the truth - ask anyone who has been in combat how tough the Aussies are), and we could call on a battalion of emus at any given time I reckon it would be a pretty even contest (Aussies are some of the best fighting men and women on the planet and we stood no chance against the emus, it wasn't even close). And that's without taking into account the unmeasurable knowledge and experience our indigenous people have of the terrain and environment and how much of an advantage this would be. The Yanks would basically have to roll out the nukes, and even then I'm not sure nukes would have much effect on the emus - they are literally bulletproof (ask us how we know, lol). We may not be able to win in a straight fight, but we could make it so so inconvenient and impractical that the yanks would throw in the towel, just like they did in Afghanistan and Vietnam (ZING!!).
@grandmothergoose2 жыл бұрын
All we'd have to do is eliminate Pine Gap and the USA's military would be blinded to a very large portion of the planet, covering all of Australia, NZ, Asia including India, the middle east and most of Russia, so yeah, we don't really want to upset the USA because their military is mighty, but they don't want to upset us either, because it would be far too easy for us to turn off the lights and leave them completely in the dark against pretty much every nation on the planet that they spy on and/or have issues with.
@shaaravguha37602 жыл бұрын
All the US would have to do is a naval blockade and bombing campaigns. Who said they had to land an invading force on Australia?
@shaaravguha37602 жыл бұрын
There is no air defence in the world nor is there a non-american plane that is capable of intercepting the B2 stealth bombers so Australia would struggle to do anything. Additionally the few cutting edge systems they do have will be spread over that huge territory making them pretty useless for Americas stealth figthers.

ANZUS treaty is a huge reason why we don't need to spend big on equipment. Loads of our budget goes into SF units for special operations. Our units are top tier technical operators rather than large scale warfare ready. Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan we sent many technical groups that capture high profile targets. Also in Iraq SASR were on the ground disabling Iraqs air dense systems two weeks before giving the US the green light for the bagdad bombing raid. First actual boots on the ground and same in Afghanistan.

Congrats on the arrival of your beautiful baby boy, such a sweetie pie! Due America’s population of 330 million there’s no way Australia with only 25 million people can compete military. Yet from the Boer War in South Africa in 1899 helping the British through to Afghanistan in 2022 Aussies have always contributed with helping our Allies. I believe the US should spend less money on helping the military industrial complexes from getting richer and use some of the money instead on universal healthcare for its own citizens, as well as improving poverty outcomes for the most vulnerable people in America. The fact the US spends more money on their military than the next 10 countries combined speaks volumes.

One thing this video got wrong was the aircraft carriers. HMAS Adelaide, and HMAS Canberra are LHDs not traditional aircraft carriers, they're designed for helicopters, rather than carrier based fighters/bombers etc. They'll carry stuff like the Taipan, Chinook, Blackhawk, Seahawk etc. They've got six spots for medium heli's on deck, and two medium sized elevators, with the aft elevator able to take chinooks. Theyve got a vehicle deck which can be used for helicopters also, for a max of 18 medium heli's aboard. Or alternatively, they can ship about 100 vehicles at a time.

Like a second reserve or a 'civil service' where they are trained in a wide variety of basic skills like small arms, first aid, signals, heavy vehicle driving, navigation e.t.c. that would allow them to be transferred to various branches of the military if necessary and those that show talent are given incentives to join up either as reservists or full time personnel.
