In today’s video I drink and compare the new Australian brewed Guinness we are being sold here in Australia Vs one of the last cans of the Irish brewed Guinness we were being sold.
Another beer now being brewed in Australia over its export!

Hey thank you for the comment, yes it is a fun task putting them side by side but then the outcome is always as expected the real McCoy just takes it and I realise that's another drink I won't be buying here in Australia unless I can get the real stuff, cheers mate!

Mate, this is devastating news. This is one beer that I didn’t think would be contract brewed. I am partial to Guinness but like you, I’ll be sticking to the Guinness Extra Stout from now on. It’s superior to Guinness Draught in my opinion anyway - more body and more flavour. Cheers!

Yes Hef! Devastating is correct! Guinness draught was just good due to sessionabilty, but not worth it now! You are right the extra stout has way more going for it anyway! Just so strong! A great last drink of the night in winter! Cheers mate

Like the other person said i just wont/dont buy any of these international beers that are brewed here. I feel people that are watching these type vids and just beer channels in general are in the massive minority though and your average joe wouldn’t even know or care that the beer is brewed here. Im sure some would,but not many. Leaving mass one star reviews and things like that cant hurt. I remember they reversed the asahi decision for a small while from the backlash before eventually sticking with it and not importing it anymore. This though is crazy i love a few cans of Guinness a few times a year but now wont buy that either.

Hey mate, yes that's it, the average Joe has no idea, I see it all the time in Dan Murphys, customers saying how good Asahi or Heineken is and if only they could taste side by side the real stuff to their average Australian brewed stuff they may see the light but essentially have no idea so these big beer companies get away with selling us these terrible beers. I wasn't aware of the Asahi backlash, bummer it didn't work for longer, and just like the Asahi bottles and recent cans, now Guinness is off my list here in Australia. So as I said in the video mate, just go with the Extra Stout, they are so strong that the fact they are brewed in Australia is hidden! Cheers mate!

I understand why breweries are doing this from a cost perspective, but surely they're losing out more by people just not buying the product. I switched from Asahi super dry to Monsuta and haven’t gone back since the domestic brewed stuff took over

Yes correct I agree! They would have to be losing out in the long run! Ok so you buy the Monsuta now, nice one! I’ll have to make a video soon about them as I haven’t tried them yet but they have been on my list for ages! Cheers mate!!

This ongoing move for international beers to be produced in Australia or another non-origin country makes me so annoyed and frustrated. I have never tasted a "produced under licence" beer as good as the original. As HappyRagingMatt says, the average Australian drinker does not seem to understand or care. Until the punters stop buying this swill, we will be stuck with fake international beer on the shelves, and less opportunity to drink and enjoy world-class international beer. I too switched from Asahi to Monsuta to enjoy real Japanese beer.

Hey mate, yep I agree, never tasted one that's as good as the original, but the average joes have no idea, and unfortunately I can't see it changing, Asahi bottles are easily one of the biggest selling beers in the Dan Murphys I work at and they are shocking, so what hope do we have! But I guess it makes you find other nice international beers, I really have to try the Monsuta cheers mate!
