do people not get taught how to drive on country roads? i live in the rural Midwest of the US and one of my first driving lessons was my instructor taking us out and making us purposefully run off the edge of the road and correct ourselves so in a crisis situation we wouldn't swerve

One of my friends mums owned a cloths shop in the small town we live in. One day there was a truck coming to deliver more clothes when it crashed head on with another truck. The fuel tanks exploded. They gave the delivery to someone else to deliver and when they were unpacking the boxes they found bits of dried blood on them.

The other thing that people forget is that in Australia, we have road trains. Massive carriers with 3 or more trailers on the back. Massive trucks that cannot stop.
@bury_the_elite652943 жыл бұрын
They can stop alright, just not very quickly. Especially given that they are travelling at 80-90 km/h (on the open road) & are about as long as an Olympic-sized swimming pool. Fortunately, most road-train drivers are usually very highly-skilled & safety-conscious operators (like the gentleman in the last clip), who know the vehicle's limits & keep to the road rules.

To clear things up, I did not mean the animal fox. I meant woolies trucks, that on the back say, "You are passing another fox". Maybe the truck thing is only in Queensland. Also what I meant by Bonglywongle was that when I first came to Australia (wasn't born here) I loved the names of certain places, Bli Bli, Wyaralong etc. I'm sorry if I offended you by saying Bonglywongle (honestly, I thought Australians were the last people to get offended).

3:44 “well done” was a heavily sarcastic comment directed at the car driver for undertaking a turning truck... The whole point of this and it’s volume 2 sequel was in Australia we get a lot of people who are impatient with trucks, and will treat them as if they are the same as cars...such as expecting them to stop on a dime like a car can...but a fully loaded lorry takes a lot longer to slow down etc...along with a prevailing attitude of “its always the lorries fault” Side note, you mentioned “this looks like England”...not quite...it isn’t raining all that much...but since we are part of the commonwealth and acknowledge the authority of the queen, we still drive on the correct side of the road just like you brits

4:12 in Australia, some of the most dangerous roads are ones that are straight lines for 10s or even 100s of kilometres, because people fall asleep at the wheel, which is probably what happened here. They sometimes put up riddles and fun facts on signs to keep you awake every now and then and your supposed to have regular breaks
