Labor wants them all to be permanent residents with eventual citizenship. Pre-pandemic levels of immigration were excessive. The English assessment process needs review. Each occupation should have a minimum English level required. There is not a one-size-fits-all all occupational There should be a fifth English Componernt "Occupation Health and Safety" to ensure that applicants can work in a safe environment. Immigration regulations, Schedule 6D needs review. The current requirements to discriminate against Australian Employment This issue was raised back in 2019 . I agree with the Minister that the system is in urgent need of reform. However, I am concerned that they have not addressed the main issues. The problem is with the Department's Management They fail to adhere to the law, regulation, and policy. and make decisions according to the law and in a timely fashion. Overseas Missions more so. Why are you wanting to come here? You would be competing with Australians for the use of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of infrastructure and public services that have taken many generations of taxpaying to provide. $US100,000 won't go very far.

Labor the out off touch party. $5000 fine for illegal strike to a worker is un issues for all workers in Australia. They can't control the Palestinian that got here and they want more? They don't respect any Australian authority. To get trade training for a person in Australia is so difficult. Instead they bring people that they aren't 100% and come to train on the job.

@leewangxow
@leewangxow Жыл бұрын
If overseas-trained nurses could work in Australia, then you'd have solved your shortage issue ages back! Nope, overseas-trained nurses and doctors however, qualified or trained in some of the best medical colleges aren't permitted to ply their profession here (unless they are from Canada or the US or the UK I think); it's because your system doesn't allow it; and of course for obvious reasons which is pretty much respected (else you'd never know what you'd get for such a sensitive sector); that's why you have qualified nurses from South Asia, spending their life's savings to undertake their nursing courses all over again here in Australia in a bid for permanent residency and to of course become part of the workforce. It's a huge sacrifice. In any case, letting in such a number (upwards of 600K) in just a year is preposterous! I am a doctoral student here; way past your so-called "productive or economic threshold" age, and I hold no interest in continuing here after my studies; I just want to give my kids a nice experience here - enjoying Australia, getting to experience Western schooling for at least 3-4 years, get me that PhD - a lifelong aspiration; and then it's back home; but with all these fallouts (the rising cost of living and the rentals), it's making our experience here a tad unsavory. But it will be interesting to see how things pan out as not everyone seems to be aware that international students (at least the ones who attend proper unis here) pay in a year what an average Australian would ever spend in their entire educational life; they and largely their spouses form an integral part of the workforce here, with huge tax contribution, a substantial part of which amongst others go into funding Aussie retirees! International students who do their postgraduate degrees in universities here including myself often wonder where are the actual Aussie students? Are they not into studying, or are they busy robbing stores, car-jacking, invading homes, playing fisticuffs at school, and engaging in hide-n-seek with the rather funny justice system here??

NOT 100,000! The average intake over the second half of the last century, which was only 23 years ago, was 70,000 pa. Our fresh water, our arable land and our wildlife habitats have not increased since then, so we should NOT be growing our population.

So I had done some research about this.. apparently one big issue is that most of the land in Australia is owned by the ultra rich. So there is very less land available for suburban construction. I may be wrong with my explanation, but it's something like that! I'm in Australia now since more than a year and I've been worried about the housing crisis ever since.

And who is going to pay for the water and the sewerage? Students don't generate as much income as is claimed. If they work in Australia, the money that they spend on fees and living expenses is NOT export income. They compete with Australian students for the part-time jobs.

The whole purpose of the student visa and post study visa system was to acquire new skills and knowledge to take to your own country. It was never meant to be a pathway to residency or work. Australia does not need civil engineers who just graduated from uni. We need senior engineers with years of infrastructure experience. But then again Australian employers must pay the market rate for such highly skilled migrants.
@kiranmarlesuresh

@@PraneetCastelino purpose of post study work visa is to gain skills and experience and it is a pathway for future (whoever is planning). Eg for PR some occupations you must have Australian experience some companies don’t even consider other country’s qualifications and experiences. It is important what we learn in Australia and what we work in Australia to get a job in Australia.

If the changes are good for your immigration policy. Then plz changes are also required for proceess of univerisities Universities takes lots of time to revert student query . They demand the documents from student like, students made a mistake to apply under australian university. GTE your so called student apllication process takes lots of time. And the student feel like they apply for loan application in banks. My suggestion is to introduce GIC policy like cananda.

Obviously because of the mind-blowing educational cost. I came in 2022 and my Master of Social Work costs 65k for 2 years. Whereas my direct juniors have to pay 75k. Its preposterous, especially since the Indian rupee is significantly of lesser value compared to AUD. I work 7 days a week and still is struggling to pay rent, bills, fees and survive. So before jumping into a conclusion like that, it is the high fees imposed on us by the Aussie unis that force us to indulge in labour, which unfortunately makes it harder for Aussies. The situation sucks for both us and Aussies. But it is what it is. Good day.
