I loved them running together - the big horse and the little horse in unison! I love the way the Macho plays with Chase. I am from the south of the United States. We never have snow! I see in the video that the horses have to dig to get their grass and it must be soggy! I guess snow is a whole different world that you have to learn how to maneuver. Thanks for sharing the horses' first snow with us. I felt the whole feel of the video of you excavating an early foggy morning in real time. I like that alot. Not every video has to be firecrackers! Just the sharing with us is what counts and is what keeps me coming back for more. Say the names of all the horses for other people who don't know the horses yet. Beautiful video.

We get a lot of snow here and sometimes get the snowballs under the hooves. We’ve found that that spraying a vegetable-oil-based solution (half water, half oil) will do the trick. We found through trial and error Cooking Spray serves the same function. If you are not afraid of a little goop, try coating your horse’s hooves in Vaseline or the like. All work well.

Here in Maine, America we get lots of snow in winter. That's a dusting but beautiful with the fog. Maine averages 3 inches of precipitation each month of the year which is a lot! I was fortunate to be around my grandfather's work horse, Duke. I have many fond memories. One of them is kicking up snow on us when he being silly taking us back to the house. We were on a sled behind him. We also had a female moose who was in love with him. When my grandfather would come out to the barn in the morning, she would be standing outside of the barn. She broke the electric fence to get near Duke and my not so happy grandfather would have to spend time fixing it. Lol.

It is dry so blows and drifts. My horses are bare foot and not blanketed. They have a pole barn for shelter but they rarely go there. They preferr to be in the open with their butts to the wind. Of course their winter coats keep them warm. They get extra grain daily along with their hay.

Love the snow, we got 30 cm in one night here by the mountains in Germany. Riding your horse in snow is one of the best things!
