Australian Kenworth T909 race transporter compilation

Many truck fans view the Kenworth T909 as the 'king of the road' in Australia, and it's certainly the pinnacle of the PACCAR brand Down Under. We've been lucky enough to capture a few Kenworth T909-led race transporters over the past four years, both in the Repco Supercars Championship and sprint car racing. And these are always intimidating looking machines when they roll through the gates.
In this video, you'll see the Team 18 Kenworth T909, which is among the most popular race transporters in Australia today. There's also Domain Ramsay's sprint car transporter, with C&H trucking adorning the race trailer. And there are also various other T909-powered haulers in the world of sprint car racing which you'll see in this video. The glaring omission is Scott Taylor Motorsport's B-Double, which we're aiming to capture as soon as lockdowns ease on the east coast of the Australia.

Is it me or does the cab of these Australian KWs sit much higher than the USA models? It looks like a W900 at first glance but then when you loom closely the grille looks way taller and the bottom of the door seems to be higher to reach. But it has the same style Aerodyne roof windows as the USA versions and they seem to be about in the right place relative to the height of the trailer. I'd like to see one of these and a USA W900 side by side.

The Aussie conventional Kenworths cabs & aerodyne sleepers do sit taller on the frame than the ones here in the USA and therefore the engine hoods & grills are also taller than the ones here the USA. The cabs of both USA & aussie versions of the same deminsion & style. The sleepers are of the same height & width but the difference would be in the overall length, depending on what the customer wants. Aussie drivers run on the left hand side of their roads & highways & all vehicles are set up as right hand side drive (steering wheels are on the hand side).

@Sukhraj thats because of the cabs & sleepers sitting taller on the frame of the truck, which will result in putting on the taller, "skinny looking" engine hoods!

So as the others have said, the cab sits higher off the frame than the US counterparts. The reason for this is the huge radiators on the trucks here. The extreme temps pretty much everywhere except the east coast necessitate it. These trucks do enormous runs like Adelaide to Darwin, (3030km, 1880mi) or Perth to Sydney (3930km, 2440mi) and if they're run 'two-up' or two drivers, they don't really stop.

They're the same mate built by Paccar only difference is they don't use detroits anymore.

There is a company that imports them from the states and converts them to right hand drive but there very uncommon
