Australian Landscape Photography - A Morning at Maddens Falls

This week we've taken a drive down to a new location - Maddens Falls just South of Sydney. This was a new one for me but I'm glad I took spikes and hiking boots as it was a tough climb in.

Beautiful Brian... its a great place to visit thats for sure. funny story, I was there about 2 months back at sunset. 1 car was already in the carpark (and they were at the falls as well). They left the falls about 20 minutes before we did... We got back to my car, and my brother left his door wide open for over an hour. Wallet and everything wass still there thank fully. Guess we was lucky we park on the passenger side (otherwise they might have seen the door open) Not saying they would have taken anything, but who knows.

Great video and beautiful shots. Maddens Falls are only about 30 minutes away from me and I must admit I have never visited them. After watching your video I think I will be correcting that oversight. There are a couple of other falls close to Maddens that are worth a visit. National Falls at Waterfall in the Royal National Park. You park your car and are about 30 metres from the falls. Then you have Kelly's Falls at Helensburgh. These are a very short walk from the carpark. Thank you for sharing.

If you want to venture down to the bottom, my advice would be to take good hiking boots or even better, spikes - the rocks down there are not insurmountable, but a bit on the slippery side in places. Great video and a great illustration of polarisation, which now i think of it is something i overlook playing around with whilst on location, something for me to keep in mind on my next venture. Its a top little spot as well, easy walk in and then a rock scramble to reach the bottom as you indicated. I have a shot on my instagram account very much like your second shot of the day

Many thanks Shannon 🙏 Yes, it's a hidden gem this one. Polarisation is one of those steps that has become part of my routine when capturing shots. I don't usually have it all the way on or off - usually it's somewhere in between but it really is quite effective eh 😉 Thanks for watching 👍

Loved the comparison between the polarised and non polarised image, I really like the polarised one 🤩 Great images mate, what a location! Really like the close up shot of the falls too, and 13:13 has layers for days, the foreground is super interesting too! Well done picking that out.

@@klickinthewild no worries how did you get to the very bottom of the stream. There are other good waterfalls in Kentlyn where I live which is 5mins east of campbelltown and also some goof falls and tracks in the Dhawaral National Park at Wedderburn also local to me
