White did not get the word "dug" 'wrong'. (27:00) He knew English better than Ms. Goldsmith. The OED says "The pap or udder of female mammalia; also the teat or nipple; usually in reference to suckling. As applied to a woman's breast, now contemptuous." White is not known for sparing the reader the rougher edges of life, and while I cannot recall the exact context in which Himmelfarb uses the word, I believe that White knew what he was doing when he chose it, rather than "nipple", because he thought it more appropriate. Ms. Goldsmith did, after all, say "trust White to know where he is going" did she not?
