Good looking layout, well and truly captures the essence and colours of that part of Australia. So many facets of outback life go un noticed by the everyday motorists crossing the Nullabor now...

That's a great video! I feel like I've learnt some history while watching some great footage of trains, quarries and campsites. The narration sounded interesting as well, it kept me watching. I'm in the process of building an outback train layout at the moment, I've got some videos on my channel if your interested.

Great video Graham. Having worked on the Trans in AN days it relayed the Nullarbor and Sugar very well. Thank you in reminding me of my days out there.

Anything on the Transcontinental Railway I'm very interested in whether Model Railways or the actual trains! Especially have an interest in the Old Tea and Sugar Train which ceased in 1996! Went from Perth to Melbourne on the Indian Pacific in 2001!😉🚇🚆🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🛤️🏜️🦅🐪

I was born and raised in Kal and my uncle drove these trains. I’ve always wanted to do a layout like this but in n scale. Brilliant.

Beautiful work Lachlan, your dad has done a fantastic job of recreating the classic colours of the outback. Great trains as well but the old "tea and sugar" is long gone now! A great piece of modelling and railroad history! Cheers Gregg.

Your video's look great Luke. Nice quality. My Father is the train enthusiast, so I will make sure to pass it on. He will love it. In terms of what I do, I am a full time filmmaker and my Dad approached me with a brief for this video. We filmed it over a couple of days and edited in a few hours. If you ever want your model filmed and put together like this let me know and we can work something out :) Thanks for the comment!

hi lachlan french i have to say what an amazing video i live in outback south australia and am really into model railroading and am really looking forward to building my very own layout one day much like the one you have built here great work mate and love the narriration. i dont know if you ever go on your youtube account any more but just thought i would leave a comment anyway i hope if you see my comment you might even consider making some more videos about your layout because i think alot of people will watch them. also i was just wondering not to be rude but how much did that layout cost so i could get an idea on how much i should start saving up. cheers and good work mate
@lachlanfrench98977 жыл бұрын
Hey Ryan, thanks for the nice comments mate, that's very nice of you. My father (Graham) is the layout master for this one. I would hate to guess how much this layout cost, as I have seen it grow for the last 20 years. I'll ask him to make a guess and let you know. Good luck with your model mate. Make sure you create a video and story for us all to watch too. Lachlan
