I loved this garden! Beautiful & looked achievable to maintain. (and the bloopers at the end, classic 😂)

I like how the overhead shot (8:00) shows the gardens of the nearby houses creating habitat for small birds, reptiles and mammals collectively. There are large trees, shrubby outcrops and areas of dense understorey and rocks for the wildlife to move through, even though the houses take up so much of the land they are on. Formal gardens can, of course, be lovely.... but I think part of responsible stewardship is to create balance on the land with areas of native planting and wildlife habitat to ensure those who were there first still have a place to live and flourish. I think these owners achieved that.

@@anserbauer309 brilliant comment - I’d agree! Completely formal gardens I find too rigid, but this garden works well in the setting and with the cottage style house.

Lovely garden, thanks for the glimpse Chloe. Will give the Crepe Myrtle pruning advice a try (next winter!)

7:41 they look a lot like sweet violets (Viola odorata), I could be wrong though. Anyway, I love your native garden tours so much!

Nice to see the espaliered lemon trees, looking at them I think I can prune mine a bit harder.
