'Treason is the crime of betraying one's country' Every prime minister since at least John Howard should be sitting trial for treason, they have all acted against the interests of the Australian people. Murdoch, and the majority of journalists should be facing trial for treason for spreading misinformation and harming the Australian population by influencing election results. In NSW Gladis should be facing the Commonwealth courts for treason, for running the most corrupt state government ever.

It’s coming from places like the UN and the WEF. Called The Great Reset or Agenda 2030. It is to drive up prices eg housing, rent, food and to drive down wages. Why? It’s seems they want to change our system. Basically through hardship turn us into obedient slaves. Democracy has been dead for a long time. There is a lot of people talking about this and trying to solve it. Unfortunately, we allowed them too much over us. Our governments are treasonous and they are the enemy of the people.

15% GST failed in New Zealand and the income tax reduction was tiny leading to higher food prices, higher essentials prices, higher electricity bills...etc. 5% more gst doesn't seem like much extra but it will add extra costs. Australians already don't pay tax on the first $19,000 of income.

Increased GST does hurt those on limited incomes , including self funded retirees and others who would miss out on any assistance ,and who get zero hand outs from Government . The problem is not that taxation is too small but excessive Government spending ,,eg the NDIS being rorted without limit , and spending billions to increase wind and solar installations then spending billions to subsidise the increased power prices to consumers.

We should focus more on the rate of inflation, grossly under-represented by our CPI weighting. If property purchase/rent was properly represented with 1980s CPI weighting we'd have inflation of 10%. How is it that people on good salaries still feel poor, it's all about property prices.
@PETRAKIS69ER
@PETRAKIS69ER 5 сағат бұрын
I've thought about that keep intrest rates high lowering house prices and incentives people keeping there money in term deposits which is a safer bet than having to invest in property. Plus you free up real estate for younger generations. I'd rather pay 10% on a $250,000 home that 3% on the same home at $1.7 million home

Why increase GST. Such a killer for low income people. They don’t just pay GST, it’s tax on every other thing people buy. A total rip-off as per usual
@Leithvo
@Leithvo 4 сағат бұрын
The distributional impacts of raising the GST can be easily overcome. Just increase the tax free threshold and increase payments to those on fixed incomes (e.g. the aged pension and JobSeeker). Bracket creep is far more destructive to people on lower and middle incomes as their average tax rates increase the fastest. It's also inefficient and highly inequitable to continually increase taxes on a shrinking share of workers. The tax base must be broadened.
@CitizenShane54-u2u
@CitizenShane54-u2u Сағат бұрын
@@Leithvo As of 1st July, tax rates have been reduced and thresholds increased for most working people. $18k to $45k was 19 cents down to 16 cents. $45k to $120k at 32.5 cents is now $45k to $135k at 30 cents. $120k to $180k at 37 cents is now $135k to 190k at 37 cents. $180k and over at 45 cents is now $190k and over at 45 cents. Some may have entered a higher tax bracket but most people are paying less tax. For most workers that's a much better deal from Labor compared to what was originally put forward by the LNP.
@SatoshiPayneOfficial
@SatoshiPayneOfficial 55 минут бұрын
@@CitizenShane54-u2u LNP already enacted tax cuts to lower to middle income workers in the years prior, that's why the tax cuts that came this year were called "stage 3" tax cuts. I don't think many in Australia disagree with lowering taxes on low to middle income earners, but removing the would-have-been tax breaks for higher income earners isn't ideal to retain or import skilled talent in this country that we need to expand our industry or create a more competitive investment landscape.
