Hey mate!!!! New to prospecting here-- I've got the gpx 6000 with the 17" coil. Would it have the guts to reach those big 1-5 ouncers down 1.5ft deep? I can't afford that gpz 7000 and If I find a good patch am I shooting in the dark or could it grab some of those ?

G'Day Drake, many thanks for your comments M8. I have to say I don't have a 6000 so can't really give you much advice. There are a few YT channels that compare the different machines to each other, have you seen any of these? I can say that the Z7 is probably the best on big, deep gold, and the 5000 compares pretty well too! At the end of the day, if you're just scrounging the old patches, then you'll need 'an edge' ... But if you're like me and looking for new stuff any good (Minelab) machine will do ( I know a chap that got a 4 ouncer with his 4500 on some ground that had been flogged with the Z7s!) Cheerio ...

@@prospecting101 Used to go with my Grandad in Kal. He looked just like Paddy Hannan! Pelican pick, shovel and pan down to DribbleCreek after some rain. Only ever gold dust but sure was exciting! Know a lot of guys who never had any success but they had the bug. If they ever made money it was ploughed straight back into the cause😂😂

How do you determine a reef still has a Murmur , do you use ground penetrating radar or something and if so , what does the Murmur tell you , it's direction or if it still contains gold .

Hi 48, thanks for your continued comments! And insight ... I meant that if the company (a family affiliate, so we had Carte Blanche) had sampled over the Honeypot ... they would have found it (instead of us). We did soil sampled the area and got some explosive results. See the Secret Map, there was a 36ppb high about 200 metres away which indicated Something was afoot ... Cheers M8 ....

Hi Laurie ... Thank you for your input. Hmmm ... jack hammer ... You need a Special Prospecting License (with a PoW) or a normal lease ... To use mechanised equipment. Or ... permission from the lease holder. Many mining companies will play ball ... Just tell them you will give them expense reports and where the gold was found ... You're an asset then! yes I know and understand we need a special license to use machinery and this spot will certainly need it. When I found it last year is was pending in the area I was detecting. Now I notice the pending area has been shifted probably half a kilometer from there and now doesn't show pending or live so I have no idea how to handle it.@@prospecting101

You found veins that could lead to a deep mine. Just follow the quartz’s the gold will vary up and down. You might even find silver in the quartz

Makes my 10 grams I found 2 weeks ago look pathetic..LOL Well you can always watch what a real average prospector really can expect to find in Victoria.. Most I ever got with my SDC 2300 4 years ago in Laverton in red flag area was 4 ounce in a week in a patch that was done to death with 5000 and 7000. You say all around was graded. Only1 reason anyone does anything out there is to look for gold. How in the blue blazes is someone gunna miss all that gold? It seems that nearly all your finds are on the back of other people's blunders. Im not saying it isn't true but there is definitely a common thread thru all of it. Some of the other finds were ... Yes where others had found an indication (nuggets) but walked away from what was in the ground. By far all of the gold I have found has been in new, virgin country.
