Hi Tash, thanks for the nice reaction, I'm from Leeuwarden Friesland, the city were Joost was born and went to school. On the 11 of May there will be a big party here in the centre of Leeuwarden and people can watch the Eurovision on a big screen in the open air near our famous Oldehove. They expecting about 10.000 people, artist will play there and ofcourse we all gonna watch Joost together and make a big party.. The gouverment of Leeuwarden is doing this special for Joost and he deserves it 😉

I've been following you a while now, I love your positive happy reactions. And I had also seen that news item and I thought, Heyyyyyyy There she is, how wonderful. He performed his first live version of Europapa in my city. They crowd went wild lol, it was fun to see. I do hope he will keep the beautiful calm reflecting ending in the song. That makes the song extra strong. So many people reacted to that positively. This interview I hadn't seen yet, I did see another interview with the same interviewer, also a wonderful interview. Joost is imho very pure. He loves to have a good time, and also is not afraid to show his pain. Pure, honest, and I really think he has a very kind loving soul. As for the point system: Each country that participates gives points to the acts their country likes. There's a public vote and a jury vote from each country. The points that can be given are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 12 so not all acts get points with each vote. Only the top 10 for each country get points but do mind there's the jury vote and the public vote so each country gives those points twice but the top 10 of the jury and the top 10 of the public can be very different. As an artist you therefore could potentially get 24 points total from each country. You can't vote for your own country of course. There's a little more to it when it comes to the semi-finals but essentially that's how the point system works.

600 SONGS! --> The Dutch public TV broadcaster AVRO has scored the rights to air Eurovision 2024. That's why they were in charge of the Dutch national selection for the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest back in 2023. We're talking a record number of entries for Eurovision 2024. With a record number of entries, the submission phase for Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö has come to a close. The selection committee received over 600 songs in total! The submissions span a wide range of music genres and languages. While the majority are in English, nearly a hundred songs are in Dutch, and a few contain languages such as French, Arabic, Turkish, Spanish, and Italian. Chair of the selection committee Twan van de Nieuwenhuijzen said, "The interest in participating is tremendous and diverse. Joost will not win. Theres a huge part of easter europe only voting for easter europe countries.there is a split between mentalities . East never is going to support west europe. And west is not into dutch language at all.i have to say as dutchie im 100 percent proud of the best euro song we ever let participatie. I expect Joost in top 5 result after the final. I see the reasoning but a little funfact, Joost is also known in some Eastern European countries, Poland, Ukraine ect. All thanks to Friesenjung going viral on tiktok. Ofc not all eastern countries know him but he has some fans there already so i wouldn’t fully say he won’t get any votes from them. His marketing is very smart and it has been paying off for now
