This year's theme, 'UNITED BY MUSIC,' seemed irrelevant, and with tensions running so HIGH, I was expecting to see punches flying around. I'm so sad for the whole thing. The Swedish police must have been overwhelmed by these unprecedented incidents, which ruined the usually good spirits you find in these events. Sometimes, I think that what brought the Eurovision to life is what might one day destroy it.

I heard it too!! And yet they magically "managed" to get 300+ votes and the artist from Netherlands that spoke against the singer of Israel was thrown out of the contest. And yet, nobody talked about the Israel singer making fun of the victims of Palestine. Bc yeah, she was the "victim", bc she had to be in her luxury hotel room all the time, during the contest and she got amazingly and out of nowhere votes that made Israel be at the top of Eurovision, she is the "victim" and not the kids that are dying in Palestine.

In Slovenian news today: "TV Slovenia wants from the EBU precise data on how the Slovenian audience voted, as well as additional explanations regarding the exclusion of the Netherlands, the ban on EU flags, the potential influence of the sponsor on the content of the event and the meaning of the "rest of the world" vote. RTV Slovenia also calls for reflection on ways to more effectively include the opinion of EBU members in the future. In addition, the Portuguese radio and television announced that due to the arbitrary behavior of the EBU, which uploaded to the official channels a recording of the performance of their representative Iolanda from the semi-final, instead of the final performance (because she had her nails painted in the Palestinian national colors in the final), and that with a delay of almost an hour, asked the organization for an extraordinary meeting. The representatives of the broadcasters of Norway, Spain, France and Croatia are also expected to support their request."

I'm 99.99% sure that Rai revealing the televote results was NOT a mistake. it's hard to explain, but basically, the graphic that was used to reveal the SF2 televoting results was one that had NEVER been used in the past to reveal televoting results (and it wasn't ever used again, not even in the final). in fact, it was in the same style as the other generic "lower-third" banner type graphics used, for example, in the credits at the start of the show. it's very plausible to think that a very brave Rai employee must have put this graphic together in a couple of minutes and """""accidentally""""" displayed it at the end of the show. Rai obviously came out and said that the graphic displayed "incomplete data", but we still "gave" our 12 televoting points to Israel, so they still probably lead the televote results by a massive margin.

Honestly same, didn't think I'd write a way longer comment under yours, but here we go. I've never felt so stressed mentally and physically after watching Esc from home and I've done it for 14 years. I was generally happy tuesday to thursday and once all the drama came to light and everything happened I couldn't stop scrolling socials for updates or focus on my life outside the bubble. I cried at one point and overthought a lot for the affected contestants and was in moral shock of Israel actually doing very well with the voting. That feeling ended up affecting other things in my life as well and my general well being. In Malmö it must've been HORRIFYING. I'm just relieved Nemo won and huge respect for all the artists who all managed to put on great performances despite the havoc and lifted my mood up even just a little bit in the final. If this also happened to anyone else, remember to take extra good care of yourselves in the time moving forward, take a deep breath, give yourself a hug and enjoy the summertime.

Right up to the show, I wasn't sure it'd be on, and I was rooting for Ireland, so if they hadn't turned up, I'd have switched off there. And I'd been having a rough month, so the Eurovision S***show Contest was not the experience I was looking forward to as a relief from the pressure. Much like Silvester Belt, I wished it had ended on Tuesday. And I also felt a sadness thinking that if it was actually held in Israel, I'd have to find a new hobby for 2025. And I've been watching since I was a 90s kid, so that'd be quite a task.

Eurovision has been one of my biggest interests for years, and the fact that I was *not* enjoying it just made me even more sad. Then there was a shitshow going on with the NL situation and more. If not for the fact that I visited my partners who also wanted to watch it with me I might not even have bothered watching the final, it was that exhausting mentally. I'm so glad ESC is over for this year, and unless a lot change I don't know if I can keep watching it. Right now there's no part of me that wants to watch ESC itself. I am too pissed at EBU and exhausted by the drama that went down. But at the same time sad, for not being able to find joy in what I usually love.

As a Dutch fan, (IMO): Don't give us the auto-qualification. Instead, AVROTROS and the Dutch Delegation should not participate in the contest until 2026 at the minimum (as a protest for this year). This year has been so traumatic, I don't think anyone wants to be part of an event like this. The disqualification of Joost and the entire situation around it caused such a painful experience and a sour taste in the mouths of the Dutch viewers. No-one knew anything until the last moments of the event and we still don't have the full story!

If that company is from Israel - which Moroccanoil is - the equation is writing itself. EBUs hands were tied this year due to their own stupidity to walk into this contract in 2020, that's why they couldn't suspend Israel from participating this year. The consequences are here and Mr Ö has some leaving to do, and the EBU management needs to reform the rules and never again have a general sponsor (at least not from any participating country), but many small ones from different countries.

Most those fans exclaiming from the river... and genocide don't know what river , what sea, where is all of that on a map and what the word genocide even means. Nor do they understand the politics, military tactics and geo-strategy behind it all. The proof is easy, just a few months ago Azerbaijan expelled the whole Armenian population of the Qarabagh - 150k people and there wasn't a squeak in the 2nd semi-final when they performed. Probably wasn't on Tik-Tok trends. Those fakes about Israel's involvement in the Joost Kleine debacle also came from Social media and Tik-Tok. My suggestion is before you go crazy because of a Tik-Tok trends research the subject properly from all sides. Also understand that nothing trends on Tik-Tok without the approval of the Chinese Communist Party , one of the most repressive entities on earth and with world-wide geopolitical ambitions. Also understand the booing as part of a crowd or spreading Tik-Tok trends isn't courage. Courage is when you are ready to face consequences like going to actual warzones to distribute aid.

As a Swedish citizen, EBU wasn’t the problem this year and neither Israel. It was the Europeans and ESC community who basically stormed into our country and created chaos. Full of hate. Everyone (including the artists) knew exactly what they signed up for. They knew it before they went to Malmö, and we all knew that it wouldn’t change. Still both artists and fans travelled to Malmö. Artists broke the rules of the competition several times and STILL, they were allowed to be part of the competition. If there’s one thing I’m sceptical about with EBU, then it’s that they weren’t stricter and gave artists consequences. These artists don’t even care about the problem. Because WHY would they want to be part of a song contest that’s organised by EBU? When they’re claiming that organisation “support genocide & violated human rights”? WHY do the artists want to use Eurovision’s platforms to market themselves by showing their faces on their social media platforms? Why do they want people to vote for them to win, as the money is going to EBU? I said it day 1 and I still say it. These artists don’t care about the issue, they capitalised the issue for their own gain. In the same way they’re capitalising on getting marketing on Eurovision’s big platforms. They care about their image, nothing else.

In my opinion, there is exactly one course of action that EBU can do now to keep the Netherlands in the context and more generally to wash itself from all this dirt: 1) Fire Martin Österdahl and everyone else who had anything to say in this year's catastrophic EBU performance. 2) Publicly apologize to Netherlands, Ireland, Portugal... and to all the artists who were mishandled by them. 3) Publicly apologise to Joost Klein and invite him to open next year's contest with Europapa song. 4) Drop Moroccanoil as general sponsor and clearly state that EBU will not let the sponsors dictate their actions in the future. Anything less than this would be a sign that they don't recognise their responsibility for this year's mess

Do you even need any more signs to prove that EBU doesn't recognise its responsibility? I think it's self-evident at this point. I doubt any of those four things will happen, and ESC 2025 will just go on, with MÖ in the lead, nothing apologized for, and with Moroccanoil as sponsor, and without NL participating. I have no doubt EBU will just shrug another country (and possibly more?) leaving ESC off.

Amazing comment, I'd like it a 100 times if I could. All of this. And as for the sponsor - they should never again have one general sponsor but many smaller ones, that's the only way to prevent one corporation (*and the government of their country*) from imposing their agenda and blackmailing. It's actualy a completely preposterous idea for an international competition to sign a multi-year contract with a general sponsor from one of the participating countries (especially one known for unstable and unsafe internal situation, and a strong govermnent meddling in all aspects of life). One really doesn't need to be a genius to imagine that something like this could easily lead to a disaster, which we have all witnessed this season. @denishavlikvienna

Im a weird limbo of disgusted by the ebu but also so enamored by the effort put in by the artists- Seeing Estonia live right by the barrier while standing legit healed me- But other stuff during sf2 were definitely well.. There was booing, there was screaming, arguable I only heard the commotion as I was at the very front of the crowd, but as I read in the news shit went down behind me, but man was it uh.. wild..? There was definitely an air of nervousness during that day compared to sf1 and although its not super related- I will never forget walking out of the arena after sf2 alone and trying to meet my mom who was shopping in the emporia mall while I was inside- And hearing the mall evacuation alarm before I could even approach the building. I hate that my mind immediately jumped to the worst possiible case scenario that I might never see her again. People shouldn't feel like this during Eurovision, people should never have to feel like this anywhere.

Honestly, most Dutch fans I talked to and have seen online want the Netherlands to withdraw from Eurovision for at LEAST one year. More if the EBU doesn't change enough. NL have been participants in the contest from the very start and Eurovision is generally very popular here, but what happened to Joost has really left a deep wound that won't heal easily. I'm sure people from other countries would feel the same if it had happened to their entry. Especially when that entry was hugely popular, like Joost's. I didn't watch the final at all, btw. Couldn't. Only saw some clips of the public booing Osterdahl online. That felt good, but no real consolation, of course.

I went to Eurovision this year, and it was my third competition. It is telling that my experience was very similar to yours. I was at Euroclub on Tuesday night and there was a sense of unease. The fans from a certain country were in Bambies face standing with their flags in a confrontational way. Irish fans could not get to them. That was my first and last time going to Euroclub. As the week went on, the sense of unease grew from the Thursday, security everywhere. I was relieved to leave Malmo and stay in Copenhagen. This year I actually don't have PED. I'm also thinking I will give it a skip next year unless there is a huge change within the EBU. After the event I've heard so many stories of fans getting abuse, as Ireland is known as a pro 🍉 country. I didn't feel comfortable wearing Eurovision merch or my countries colours. The Irish media has also been full of hate. So much homophobic comments aimed at fans at the contest, and transphobic/religious slurs aimed at Bambie. Eurovision is supposed to be fun, where you mingle with other fans from different countries. It wasn't that this year unfortunately. Not forgetting Joost Klein, people not being able to bring in a non binary flag, etc. I'm actually emotionally exhausted. And may I add, that countries delegation/ journalists were harassing artists at pre parties. This should have been nipped in the bud long before the actual competition

My Malmo experience was bad enough because I was rather ill throughout the whole week. Add to this that everything Gabe says here is TRUE! All of what he says was already verified for me by various people who were present behind the scenes and in the Press Centre. Then, as I was entering the Arena on the Saturday evening, wearing my Croatia hoodie, a guy with a Press Accreditation came up to me and said “I hope you guys wins tonight” referring to Baby Lasagna. I responded “with any luck”. He then said to me “why do you say “with any luck?” I responded “because there is a major effort across the world to gerrymander the vote for Israel”. It then occurred to me that the guy was part of the Israeli delegation or Press and he went mental calling me “anti-Semitic” and “outrageous liar”. What I was saying was the truth then and we know it to be the truth now. I quickly moved away from this maniac as he bounced around like an angry tigger. I was nervous that I might be targeted by security and removed. It totally soured my week in Malmo, but it was a very fitting and appropriate end to the worst Eurovision I have ever attended (of the 18 I have been to). I was also told that the Israeli delegation was secretly recording conversations with other delegates (possibly the interaction I had to suffer too) so that they could play the victim card if they needed to. A wholly scandalous mismanagement by the EBU and the spotlight seeking Martin Osterdahl. What the eff was going on?
