In 2.5 months, i will pick up my 8 week old mini Aussie pup from a breeder. I previously raised two dogs, one of them from puppy to death at 15. I watch these dog training videos that make sense with what I've seen in my previous dogs. Thank you so much for putting in the work and sharing the knowledge and experiences with all kinds of dogs for us to learn from! The world is huge and full of help, is how i wish to live and see things. I agree that there are differences between full blown anxiety panic versus trained obnoxious behavior. Fenrir, among others on KZbin, is a reliable trustworthy trainer giving us gold 🪷✨️

Super great video. Am getting 12 week old minature Ausie tomorrow♡ My 13 yr old (Marlee, who I had since she was 8wks) golden retriever/yellow lab mix passed away in December from mass on her spleenthat burst. She had extremely bad separation anxiety, with me leaving in her the last 5 yrs of her life. That was attributed to my traumas & breakdowns, unfortunately. Looking forward to loving & working with my new addition~

My Aussie doesn’t have separation anxiety but I don’t know what else to call it... she’s perfectly fine being left at home while I’m at work or running errands. It’s when we go to new places that she starts to have issues. I socialized her a lot as a puppy so idk why she does this but in a new place she’s very anxious. She whines for hours even when I’m there with her. She won’t go potty, she’ll hold it until she can’t anymore, or she’ll pretend to go potty when I take her out. She’s on high alert and it seems like there’s nothing I can do to calm her down.

Did you ever find ever tips to help? This is exactly what I’m going through with my roommates dog and I love her, but I just want to know how me and my roommate can help. She’s 3.

My Aussie is absolutely fine because we raised her with our Aussiedoodle and they do everything together. Our Aussie loves to play ball, I have never owned such an easily entertained dog, she loves to cuddle and I think that if your an Aussie owner love the trust they show.

It's so important to talk about genetics in these conversations when it comes to separation anxiety, reactivity, etc. I was excited about this video, but chalking up anxiety solely to nurture v. nature is a disservice.

What do you do if your dog never wants to let you out of their site, and does this separation anxiety that you're talking about when I leave she barks and cries at the door

I've always owned 2 Australian shepherds, no separation anxiety ever.

Morning… thanks for the video I picked up my puppy a few days ago, he’s stuck to me like glue… he doesn’t seem timid but it entirely uninterested in anything but hanging around me… also he’s not always seeking attention and will lie at my feet calmly wherever I stop in the house…. He won’t wander around the house or garden even though the doors are wide open. However He whines and begins crying immediately when he is physically separated even when he can see you. He doesn’t seem really distressed though. It’s on 2 days in the wild world but concerned that by following the guidance I might be teaching the bad behaviour… I’ll work on his stay and try and build up the distance…. He’s still not vaccinated to go to puppy sessions Any suggestions welcome!

I think you guys really need to cut the fat from your videos. You spend a ton of time in every video talking about your boot camp course, and it's really tired. You also do an intro with one guy, and then another intro with another guy. There's really not much information in this video that's useful, most of the video is just talking and a glorified ad.

The first guy is the MC introducing Will. Most of their videos are like this. Because Will is never actually talking about the specific Breed shared in the video. You will find they upload the same exact video but swap the breed name. Pretty smart honestly. But yes, I watch all of these videos and I skip 90% of them since its mostly an ad and 9/10 times the first two steps are Excercise and Restructure the relationship.

If it takes two weeks to make the crate an inviting space, what do you do with your puppy at first (nighttime and errands?)
@tandem.in.turquoise4 жыл бұрын
Ignore the crying at night and make errands short :)

I think that people can't handle Aussie's because you need to demonstrate leadership instead of being a pushover for your dog. In other words, you have to be firm instead of timid. Remember, these are working breeds and you need to be their boss.

I don't know why anyone would own one of these dogs that have horrible behavior Incessant barking and many other problems
