Wow, great footage Bevan. There isn't many times in life, where someone could film 3 steam trains racing along. Thanks for your efforts filming and sharing for us to enjoy. Many thanks Craig

You know I could see this as a sport - not only are the engines tested but the crews too.

That is an awesome video, the cab inside 3265 looks very interesting and the sound of 3265 is just as interesting inside the cab rather than outside.

That would have been fantastic to participate in. Even being in the crowds along the way would have made me the happiest person. Love the old steam engines from my youth. Thanks so much for sharing. 😀

That is the most excellent video of steam trains I have seen. Brilliant. Loved the imagery and absolutely the most unique video of steam loco's side by side... Jaw dropping is what I think.

Hmm , I was recovering at home after spending 12 weeks in Maitland Hospital recovering from a stroke ; All good now . I'll bet 2021 Steamfest will be a beauty seeing that most things have been put aside due to Covid 19 !

More of a procession really, 3642 is capable of speeds in excess of 100kmh, with a top speed of 150kmh in its prime.

um 93 mph+ ? Really? What's your source? The highest ever timing (and very unofficial) for a 38 class with same size drivers (69 inch) and higher horsepower was 3827 at 89mph on the Cootamundra speed tour in 1969. Where and when did a 36 ever better that?
@AussiePom11 ай бұрын
@@davidmason7765 the highest official recorded speed of a 36 class was 3619 in May 1941 when it reached a top speed of 81.8 mph (131.6kph) on the Western Express between Sydney and Springwood with the highest speed being reached at South Creek near St Marys. Mr M.A Park recorded the speed. Source 36 class book by John B Thompson page 44.

Fun Fact: it wasn't racing each other, they were racing 2 planes called Tigermoths
