@@lancecooper4646 Yeah, I hear that brother. Well aware the Australian government played their part in the downfall of the Aussie car manufacturing industry. Not only did they allow it to happen, they expedited it. My comment on GM America, is based on the fact that they did little to assist (same goes for Ford U.S), their Aussie counterparts. For them it was a simple equation....wind down the Aussie made cars, sell more American made cars. Ironically, both GM and Ford U.S were happy to "borrow" a lot of the Aussie design and engineering ideas....

An interesting wagon, it has an HZ Premier badge on the tailgate, and no HX only, badges,on the upper front guards,or Premier tyre/rim dress rings. Being the first model Holden that complied with ADR27a emissions requirements, it's interesting to see all the associated hoses attached to the motor, aside from the power steering and air-conditioning systems. The motors were hard to keep in tune, and, fuel consumption was comparatively high, compared to say,an HQ series with similar specifications. They don't make 'em like they used to 👍

@not today Patronis said multiple electric vehicles have been disabled due to Ian. Florida State Rep. Bob Rommel said the culprit is saltwater. “If they get saltwater in them, they catch on fire. Very difficult to put out, extreme hazard,” he said. “If you have an EV, and it’s in your garage, get it out now if it had saltwater flooding.”
@huleeyaxerssius72 жыл бұрын
@not today Much rather have this Premier than some silly tesla. Yeah, anyone of them would whoop this wagon anyday in performance, but isn't always about that. So have fun getting a tesla repaired, paying thousands, or even tens of thousands for repairs. Whereas it'd be much more simple & cheaper to fix something like this, than yet another dullard EV.
@huleeyaxerssius72 жыл бұрын
@not today The only time i'd end up driving an EV (wouldn't mind trying out one of those Honda E's that aren't sold here actually) is when the ICE petrol & diesel powered cars aren't allowed to anymore. And not everyone can afford even the first versions of the Model S from the late 2000s. And yeah, some newer ones are of course better than an older thing from the 1970's, we'll say 30 or so years newer. Of course they are. And sure, i might be driving a "death trap to someone who can afford a fancy little tesla, or even the most basic of new EV's sold here in australia. Not everyone wants to take out a car loan that'd take years to pay off, charging stations aren't everywhere & EV's still have a bit of a distance to go before they are proper. Some guy in the US with a new F150 Lighting tried towing a Model A on a trailer, only got 56 mile range or so. Whereas a diesel equivalent would have gone much further, even a petrol one would have, not as much a s diesel of course. SO while they might be making progress, it will be years before they are the proper norm. So how about you take your nose out of the sky, you little tesla snob. Yeah, i might be "stuck in the past", and would be driving normal cars until we aren't allowed to anymore. Even the cheapest EV, a 2013 Nissan Leaf i saw for sale was $15,000. Not all have that kind of money, not everyone wants to take out a loan as i said, & for even that much, not all can spend more than $50,000 on a car. So you should consider that not everyone has a bunch of money, so you should consider that too. So yes, how about you leave the stupid little caveman to his old ICE powered cars, who is too rooted in the past. I couldn't afford some fancy-pancy EV even if i wanted to. And yeah, i'll cling onto the old ways as long as i can. So you call me & whoever else "ignorant" over daddy elon's EV's being so superior as they are. I & others are ignorant, you are a hoity-toity little Tesla snob. So off you go in your expensive EV, laughing & scoffing at some ignorant peasant like myself. And out of warranty, some older tesla's will cost a mint to fix up. Was referring to that, and you better hope you can afford repairs if they ever come up, when those years roll by, as they will sting. But someone who manages to have a newer tesla like that, i'm sure you can afford it just fine. I don't care if daddy elon has one of the fastest cars out there, not always about that. Don't need something fast to have fun, as someone else said here, you'd have a 4.2 for the V8 sound, not the performance. That might not be a quick one, i'd still enjoy that more than some over-priced tesla, that is the equivalent of an Apple device, also being over priced, have fun getting them fixed out of warranty designer silliness. A time would come when EV's are the thing to go with, but i'm staying the "old fashioned way" for as long as i can. So yeah, you have fun with you expensive EV that not all can afford, and not all want to take out some huge loan for. There'll be a time when they are the dominant one out there, but not for many years as i said. And no-one is being forced to use some EV, just like other are not being forced to use ICE cars either. We'll keep carrying on with these other types for a while yet, i'll be sticking with my properly reliable 1997 Magna being nice & basic, no extra technology shoved in my face, along with my 2007 SSV Ute which has only it's cruise control & other basic things they had included, along with it's oh-so-terrible & horrific, polluting, killing-the-planet, fuel guzzling, 6.0 V8 thanks. Not as quick as some tesla yes, but i do not care. I'd get more fun out of my ute, with it's said engine, rear wheel drive with that V8 sound that is far better than the nothingness of an EV, than some rather expensive motoring appliance (i.e, said tesla) And you shouldn't be here, having a go at those who like normal cars. Not the place for some EV snob like yourself. So yes, for the last time, off you go while laughing & scoffing at some young, silly 29-year old uneducated fool like myself & others for liking something like this, and not some dullard, unessicary, over technology laden, expensive electrobox like your tesla. Me & others like me, prefer something basic. No technology all over the joint, just something that'd have the minimum type of assists to keep you on the road & the like, a radio, something you could run bluetooth through for your music at most. We'll hold out as long as we can. We will enjoy these normal cars for as long as we can, and one day EV's might be the only choice. But until such a day comes, ICE is the dominant, and very much enjoyable force out there. So it has been for many, many years, and still has some bloody good life left in it mate.
@burniezarsoff41182 жыл бұрын
