Saw my first Chargers in 1971 when I was 7 years old. I have been in love with them ever since. I owned 4 at one stage. I was buying them for $500-$1000 in excellent condition, you couldn't give them away in the 1980's. Everyone thought I was a weirdo because I still loved them. I wish now I had saved 100 of them, I saw sooo many go into the wreckers to be crushed. Tragedy today.

I'm a Ford man my father had a ZB Fairlane rebuilt 302 best car on the road I've driven. But those HQ statesmen have got the best tail lights and front end are one of the best looking models ever made. My Oldman agrees on that. Look like a shark or something just the best love those cars.

Nice to see a commercial without a Statesman Caprice nose cone on it! Looks wonderful

Lovely WB, replete with the comparatively rare round headlight grille. A very healthy red 253ci, and still sounds great with the standard zorst. GMH made a big mistake axing the full size Holden's. Folk's say hindsight is all too easy,tho we all knew it at the time. Congratulations to the owner of this beauty 👏👍

It's got the air-conditioning dash vent. GMH integrated the aircon from HQ onwards,and the de Ville had it as standard.

Nice to see a matching era engine instead of LS swap! HQ Statesman designers got it on point, from front to rear!

When GMH made nice looking cars . Really after the HK and the next 2 model its game over the 307 the 327 and the 350 was the best they ever had . 👌.

I GUARANTEE there is welding of the cracks near the lower front control arm rear mount, top arm tower, ... Not the best chassis built. Oh wait, did it crack behind the cab too?? 😂

Add replacing the lower front shocker nuts. The idler. Plating the rear arms. Barely Holden Together

These rims with pirelli tyres were a very expensive extra optioned from HDT. I agree,they aren't the best-looking rim,but for originality,they are the bees knees.

Video by Australian Muscle Car Sales so I'm gonna take a wild guess and say to google Australian Muscle Car Sales and go to their website and you will find this car, the information and it's price. Guess if you're not in Australia it won't be worth it though.

I believe this was the car that crapped on the Falcon 351 GTHO. I had a 76 265 sedan, no quite the same, but I still loved it.
@petethetruckie7 күн бұрын
Nothing "crapped" on the GTHO. The E55 was was very much it's equal though and seriously underrated.
@chuckmaddison29247 күн бұрын
@petethetruckie actually faster.
@petethetruckie7 күн бұрын
@chuckmaddison2924 except GTHO production ended in 72. The 71 GTHO ran a 14.4 against the E55s 15.5 with factory fitted Carter Thermoquad carby. Swap the carby for just about anything else, and put a half decent exhaust on it, and the SE would've been as quick as the phase 3. The full house E49 clocked the same 14.4 as the GTHO phase 3. The 340 hemi, given the right attention, would've slaughtered the 351 Cleveland, despite Howard Marsden's best efforts, because it was simply a better engine. Chrysler just never gave it the chance.
