That's not a TRUE SLR.. Where's the, SLR 5000 writen / printed on both sides of the cars lower doors.. And, a TRUE SLR, has Black flared guards over the wheel arches... Where's the SLR on the Horn button... Also, they never came with a Big Sunroof onto of the car.. Aaaand.... They were never Dark Grey, on the Top half of the car. They were all Shiney Black ⚫️ from the windows up to the roof of the car... Nd if it had a Sunroif, it be Half of what's on that car now.. @@dustyfarmer ... perhaps I was unintentionally misleading with my use of the word 'original' ... the car has been correctly painted in Grecian White, but for originality's sake it should have been retrimmed in Dover Blue vinyl. It's a worked over HD. I drove one in the 60's. We used to call them Highly Dangerous because of the vague steering, tiny brakes and lurching front suspension. It also had a 149 cu in six as standard which while smooth wouldn't rev and had little power. For the same money you should be able to buy a second hand well kept Mustang with a 5 L Coyote V8. I have one and it is every thing the HR Holden was not. All in all an entirely forgettable car.

Without any doubt, in standard 149 trim, this vehicle was by far the worst, most dangerous vehicle I have ever owned. It was only five years old and already due for the tip. The brakes were suicidal, the engine made so much smoke that it tried to kill anyone even close, especially the unfortunate driver, and the rust was irreparable. That one looks excellent, but my recollections make me nervous.

@@russellbogg5270 Yep, you got it, you never knew which way it would pull. I've lost count of the hours I've spent trying to make them good, Saturday mornings in Dad's shed, complete rebuilds, new everything, super fine adjustment, machined drums, take it out and after a few days, the same thing. I sold it and bought a VH Valiant, discs, problem solved.

@dustyfarmer5 күн бұрын
@@aussiebaz5363 Your brake pulling wouldn't have been fixed by machining the drums. If you'd looked carefully at the brake backing plates there would have been grooves worn into the four raised pads that are pressed into them that the brake shoes were catching on & giving the brake shoes a wonky application. A quick touch with a grinding disc to get them back to smooth & a thin film of brake grease on them would see the brake shoes moving smoothly in & out again and your brake pulling issue gone.
