Not an Osaka fan, but THAT was impressive. To beat a healthy, motivated and high-quality opponent like Muchova in the fashion in which she did, speaks highly of where Osaka's game is now, and she suddenly looms as a serious threat to win it all. There are so many challengers for this title -- Saba, Coco, Elena, Jasmine, Iga, and also hot relative newcomers like Shnaider -- but the presence of a rejuvenated Osaka adds an exciting new wrinkle to the proceedings. She looks VERY strong. LFG!!!

Wait, you can't be bothered to show the first time Osaka breaks Muchova? That is THE vital psychological turning point in the match! Absolutely ridiculous editing choice. Why on earth would you show the fourth break point, defended by Muchova, rather than the actual break point where Osaka wins the game? Are you INSANE?

From now on, I will just concentrate on admiring her beauty and her game. Heartbreak again and again watching her matches because I wanted her to win GS so badly after final of FO 2023. I should just take it easy from now on. I actually wanted to fly to Melbourne with Papa to watch her matches thinking she would at least reach SF since it's also hard court. Didn't expect her to be out in R2 since she had defeated osaka in R2 of USO 2024. I watched the full match and the 3rd set was heartbreaking because she appeared helpless against osaka. 2nd set was a disaster because Kája faulted on almost every first serve. Thus 1-6. This match reminds me of the USO 2024 SF where she lost to pegula after securing a strong start of 6-1. Same score as this match and eventual loss.
