Actually winning the million is so absurdly impossible I think it's only ever actually happened twice on the show. You have to land on the wedge, guess the consonant correctly, not land on bankrupt for the rest of the game, then end with more money than the other contestants, THEN the million is added to the prize wheel, THEN you have to actually land on the million on the prize wheel, THEN you have to actually solve the final puzzle. Only after doing all this can you actually win a million dollars, which probably comes out to about $5000 after taxes.

Fun fact. You actually pay income tax to the state you earned the income in. That means if you won the money on a gameshow in California you would pay 12.3% state income tax no matter where you live. California has a progressive tax rate so the percentage depends on the amount earned but for $1,000,000 it would be 12.3% the highest in the country.

I believe it's happened three times over the like 45 seasons of the show. It is insanely rare. I remember I was watching like a year ago and the person got the wedge, made it to the bonus round but wasn't able to get the puzzle right. And at the end they revealed what the prize was that they would have won and it was the million. It's so rare.

Seattle fan here. A good rule of thumb for any non-americans is just assume that if it is the first city you think of in a state it probably isn't the capital. For some reason we picked a bunch of weird choices. Looking at you Albany the capital of New York.

The Before & After category is a word game: It's two phrases or things with a shared word appearing at the end of one and beginning of the other. For example, "a slap on the wrist" and "wrist corsage."

So I enjoy helping people understand Wheel of Fortune and as such I often comment on videos where people play it to try and help them learn the game; here's a couple tips! Each player has an "inventory" which some rewards go into, such as the cruise, the sponsor prize, the 1/2 a car, or the $10k on the back of some mystery wedges. These wedges are only kept if you are the one to solve that round's puzzle but once earned are counted towards your total score for the purpose of determining winner (though I think you have to have both 1/2 car tokens for it to count) The $1,000,000 actually acts as one of these wedges but DOESN'T count towards your score for winning. Instead, if you have the million dollar wedge AND you win the show, the million dollars will be added secretly to one of the envelopes on the wheel for the bonus round. So in order to win the million you have to land on the wedge, correctly guess a letter when you do to earn the wedge, solve that puzzle successfully, go on to win the episode, randomly land on the million on the bonus round wheel, AND solve the bonus round puzzle. The million dollars sucks, is what I'm trying to say.

Watching this was hard but funny since y'all don't know how the game works. The themes have a hint as to what the phrase could mean, for example, Before and After means the phrase uses a word or saying for something before in the beginning and ties into something for the end. That is how you would realize what the last word could mean, since it ties into the first phrase. There are other themed rounds that y'all should look up to better understand how to win. It's a really good game!
