these are the worst headphones I have ever bought. I will send them back after less than 5 hrs of listening. These hurt my ears so bad that I have a constant werid sound in my both ears. Horrible experience. Ok, ther looks and build quality are extremely high, but souns very very poor, weird, inacurate

Thanks for your in-depth review. My Hi-X25BT cans were delivered last Sunday. I charged them for 4 hours and then put them to use. I was impressed with the clarity of sound but I was a little disappointed in the richness of the bass compared to my AKG N60s which have on-the-ear cups and have superbly rich highs and lows for being wireless. But, I am very happy, however, with the over-the-ear Hi-X25bt cans as they are lightweight and comfortable. I have an average size head but the N60s started to pinch the ears after about an hour of wearing them. So, I am grateful for the Hi-X25bts comfort-wise. I also like that I can usually get another 10 - 15 feet of BT reception without stuttering or loss of signal compared to the N60s. Another plus is the USB-c audio/charger feature. In the future, it should be the standard rather than proprietary cables that seem to break and then cost a small fortune to replace (maybe that's the point, eh?). The cable is too short so I ordered an inexpensive (2 ea for $9 on Amazon) USB-c female/USB-a female adapter to extend the length with a 6 ft USB-c cable. This allows me greater mobility when I am editing my music from longer than 6 feet away from my audio interface. Peace and Cheers!

Great new look, Mike combined with your usual excellent content. A quick request for your consideration. When reviewing headphones in the future, would you consider commenting on whether or not they they're a good fit for those wearing eyeglasses? I've experienced otherwise comfortable headphones feeling like a vice when I'm wearing eyeglasses. Thanks, as always and keep up the good work.

As a video production professional, great job on your lighting and editing, Mike! I've been watching your stuff for a while, and I've noticed your improvements over time. The only thing that sticks out is the 60p framerate. I am aware that many creators are doing this now, but it is somewhat distracting to me. Personal preference, I know, so feel free to ignore it. Your product and b-roll shots are very well done. Thank you for giving us such great, informative, content!

Thank you, Mike. This saved me. I'll have to wait until I can afford Hi-60 & 65 (though they should have a discount trade in for the 65 do to how non-reflective of the standard lows are in the 55)

The MI-X15 is labelled as an entry level monitoring headphone and these MX-X25BT have the same drivers. It is good to know that in analog mode the internal DAC converter is not being used and they sound both the same. The only benefit is the Bluetooth if you need it. When you use it only in Bluetooth mode there are better options with Noice cancelling and the same rubbish microphone quality, like a Sony or Bose. If you also want the monitoring capability then they are a nice option. I don’t like the capacitive control, it functions more random than buttons, it is a missed oppurtunity. Personally i would buy the 15 as a monitor, which is also lighter, and a seperate Bluetooth headphone that is dispensible because of the battery life. As always a nice and unbiased review. Thanks!

Incredible vocal recording (especially compared to many other reviewers out there) I would love to know what microphone you use seeing as it is not in the visual space and still so clean with the low end. So a lavalier microphone or some sort of rifle microphone?

I agree comfort is almost as important as the sound. Hard to enjoy great sound if your ears are getting sore from too much pressure. I love my DT770's because they are super roomy and have velvety pads instead of vinyl. I can wear them for hours and not get uncomfortable. They sound great too.

Hey Mike, any chance of a vid covering some android editing solutions for VO when away from home? I normally use reaper on my PC, but my PC is huge and it's not suitable for dragging to a hotel when I'm away. I've access to a zoom h6, rode NT1 and high spec android tablet (I'm allergic to Apple). Cheers for all the advice over the years!

For deep bass, my go to is Evil Dub by Trentmoller - it is techo music, it will cause wild gyrations in drivers. it is a great sound track to test bass response, the next is the one you mentioned, just added to my driver/speaker test list when i visit audio stores. cool.

Suggestion to review....Sennheiser HD300 Pro. Used them for a long time, not sure if they are good or I've just gotten used to them. Great Vids!!!

Good review. I think people really expect ANC on modern BT headphones nowadays, which scores against these. I would also pay an extra 25% on these phones for better call quality. I can only carry one set of phones around, and I would rather have competent all-rounders, than ones that are great at one necessary function, but drop the ball in another.
@The_Paya3 жыл бұрын
For any future reviews of Bluetooth headphones: see if you can find out which "codecs" the device supports (besides SBC: aptX, LDAC, AAC, etc) that's quite important as the codec may limit the frequency range you can hear 'over bluetooth' and they also affect latency somewhat. Lastly, it is indeed the Bluetooth Profile (HFP) what really limits the bandwidth of the microphone, pretty sure no BT-HFP device exists that overcomes that limitation. Maybe when BT6.0 comes out a better profile will be defined.

A good track for good punchy bass is also Zealots of Stockholm by childish gambino 1:35 But wow the track you mentioned works so good on my 660s. I've been on a search for headphones id like with amazing bass and high treble. I checked your older video but its hard to make a proper decision. Was thinking about purchasing all the headphones one by one and returning to compare. DT 1990s, 660s etc

@boothjunkies OH MAN! please dont kick me out of the booth junkies, cuz i dont think youll approve! of course im new to all this but i just wanted to get up and running, yknow?? So after absorbing my "inner Mike", I got some furniture blankets, accoustic foams, velvet curtains (rockstar), pillows for a ceiling, pawn shop mic (maono, usb) and some no brand cans. im so excited, but then...Reaper, ugh. its just too hi tech for me right now, so im learning to grasp audacity, and ive just submitted my 2nd audition! my "booth" resembles a dark shower stall in my bedroom lit by my headlamp and i love it! thanx Booth Junkies 🗣 ..

Coming from the underpowered and underwhelming mic on the B&O Beoplay H95, I thought this mic sounded great, especially considering they're bluetooth and there's no boom mic.

I wonder how these compare to the Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT. Also, I looked through the user manual and I didn't see anything about noise cancelling. Note that I'm one of the weird people who feel nauseous wearing noise-cancelling headphones which is why I like the ATH-M50xBT and I hope the Hi-X25BT doesn't have it either.

The microphone was slightly disappointing. Otherwise these are a great price, as even though I don’t normally use Bluetooth, it can sometimes be convenient, so it seemed like a good upgrade to the 15 model. But otherwise, the fact that it needs battery to power the analog signal is a no-go. Basically disposable headphones. Buying the 15 is a better idea.

Which means I’ll be having a garage sale soon, Due to non payment of mortgage…having said that, this seems to be twice as long as necessary…but very thorough (nice video value tho…4K?). Also, looks like these can be upgraded with better cup pads…? Brainwavz anyone?

" Why So Serious " by Hans Zimmer is ( imho ) a terrible track to test bass capabilities ( listening on 250Ω Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro's and a RØDE AI-1 interface ) ... There is so much harmonic distortion in the Zimmer soundtrack recording that it's difficult to tell if the distortion / over-modulation is in the recording or if your own headphone output stage or coils / cones are over-driving / ripped / burned out !!! I prefer to test my amplifier / coils / cones with a track that has smooth, un-distorted bass like what you might find in a track such as >>> " Best Dance ♫ Bass Music ♫ I Like To Move It (Remix 2021) Video HD " ;)
