@@xwtek3505 Min-Nan is the language-group, "Han" (漢) is the name actual ethnic group name of the majority of Chinese people. They are also called "Han Chinese" in English, because there are other groups like the Dongs/Dais (i.e. Thai and Lao related people), Miao/Hmong, Uyghur, Tibetans, Hui (ethnic Han who are Muslims), Mongols, Korean, Manchu, Cham etc who aren't ethnically or "by law" Han, but are Chinese citizens too, and native to parts of China too.. Even among the Han people, they have different dialectical and ethnolinguistic groups.. The difference between Min-Nan and Han is like distinguishing "Bicolanos" from "Austronesian Filipino".. All Bicolanos are (Austronesian) Filipino, but not all Filipinos are Bicolano... Similarly, the difference between the "Han Chinese" and "Chinese", is like the difference between "Austronesian Filipinos" and "Filipino citizens". (i.e. Filipino citizens can be Austronesian or Aeta/Ati/Dumagat/Mamanwa, Chinese-Filipino, Indian-Filipino, Spanish-Filipino, American-Filipino or any other non-Austronesian group.)

My DNA reflects that my Austronesian great-great-great-great-grandfather decided to marry a Han Chinese woman 6 generations ago. I think it was his choice as it's usually the guys who make the first move. =)

Interesting. The word "tumatututuru" in the video which meant taught, as the subtitle suggests, sounds similar to the word "turo/turu." Turo/Turu in Filipino is a root verb which means "to teach" or "to point."

As a speaker of an Austronesian language (the Filipino national language) from the Philippines, which is like my second or third language with or alongside English (Philippine/Filipino English) (and 'cause my first, native, indigenous, or mother language is a Spanish-based creole language called Chavacano), I hope all the best for the promotion, cultivation, preservation, education, and instruction of the Austronesian languages in Taiwan for the next and younger generations, even outside of the population of the tribes and communities who natively spoke and use them.

Formosa or Taiwan is a part of Philippines in ancient time but because of colonizer in western country or Europe and Japan and now china.. we can't always prevent a language from changing, they will change/evolve and some of them will "died". especially when speaking the language isn't really benificial or functional in sociaty. BUT, at least we need to have a record of the language, it must be written in history, because if we let the language died without having any record we will have a "blank page" or "missing puzzle" in history, and it'll be difficult to study anthropology and history accurately. please don't misunderstand me, I'm not pesimistic, I'm not saying you shouldn't save this endagered language. I'm just giving people an advice to make a "plan b" just in case we can't save a language from being extinct we still have them preserved inside our "books". I love Austronesian languages, and it's sad when I found ancient language which had become an "extinct language" but has no complete vocabulary preserved, most of the words just gone/forgotten.

2 things came to my mind when I heard Hla’alua language: 1. It sounded just like what [probably] Old Japanese sounded like (Old Japanese is said to have had similar sounds as Ryukyuan language, it didn’t evolve like the Old Japanese did); 2. the word “ihlaw” sounded like the word “ikaw” in Tagalog because “hl” made “k” like sound plus the context clue

Introducing another foreign language can drastically kill the native languages even more. So rather than introducing new languages, it's better to revitalize them and let them evolve along side Taiwanese language. Similarly this is what happened with the National language of Philippines after independence. Filipino Language is based on Tagalog but not Tagalog. It has a mix of other languages but evolved from Tagalog grammar and nature of the language in order to survive rather than die from foreign languages.

Because they all came from the Underwater Eden landmass now under the Pacific Ocean nd the garden of Eden itself is under the Middle East of Fiji..Not from Taiwan,its from Fiji..You can see that the Pacific Islands languages,they related to each other more closer than any Asians or African languages..Fiji is also the reddish brown skin people mentioned by the Israeli scholars which depicted the skin colour of Adam..They pronounced his name as Adama which means red earth. Taiwan Han is 100% Southern Han Chinese, similar location to Cantonese (CHS) populations when plotted. They are not close to any austronesian but almost clustered next to Vietnamese. Taiwan Han are from bai yue tribes of the Minnan region and the Min people used to be a vietnamese tribe. Xin Chao, taiwan, you are bai yue, from min yue, "min viet"
