Yes. I recall seeing an active test option that turned the fuel pump on or off for the 7th gen accord. Keep in mind that the availability of the function may vary by vehicle.

Updating the firmware of the VCI. This is different from updating the the Autel device itself.

Damn you are good. You actually answer most if not all questions posed. Since I posted that, I also found out that the USB on the VCI is so that you can do a wired connection from the OBD connector to the diagnostic tool (screen). I think that is in case the Bluetooth does not work for whatever reason. Maybe I am wrong.

Doing a BMS, can you actually enter the Ah capacity (92) and the battery type or are you limited to a list of Ah ratings?

Hi. You can only merge 3 pids to visualize on the same sceen/graph. That said on the live data window, you can graph as many pids simultaneously and scroll through. I am yet to find any support for dark mode of any sort.

I've added a response to your other comment. If a collision led to the warning, the SRS components will need to be replaced and crash data cleared before anything can be done to turn it off.

Resetting the PCM is just like how you would do when erasing a check engine light. The reset reactivate the injectors.

So I just looked up the Dodge Caravan and chose 2012 year. I can confirm "ABS initialization" as well as "Initialize ABS non ESP" are listed as special functions for the MP808TS. Hope this helps. Had a MK808TS and never had a problem to program TPMS, changed to a MP808TS and it won't read any TPMS sensor so far, any advice? 😕

It's possible all the sensors you've been trying to read are already dead! Had that issue with the first car I tried to read TPMS on. All sensors, dead. TPMS batteries last anywhere from 5-10 years depending on a lot of factors. Or are you saying the MK808TS will read a sensor while the MP808TS doesn't (right after)?

It's a good unit, I recommend. Haven't had an issue reading sensors at all, except if the sensor batteries were dead as I noted above. In which case the sensor will need to be replaced. Even if you were to have any problems, Autel support is pretty responsive.

I ran across this once. Somebody programmed all of them with the same ID... I bet $50.00 US they didn't move the other ones 20 feet away.. And it did all four art once.. So maybe they should read the instructions...

For a beginner, and for the need that you mentioned, a simple code reader with access to manufacturer codes may be all you need. Depending on budget, you can start with this and upgrade over time as your knowledge increases. If budget is not an issue, you could also start with something that has access to other ECU's in the car in addition to the engine. E.g. Transmission, ABS and SRS. Either way, having even a basic code reader is better than nothing even if it's the Bluetooth dongles, just be sure to not leave it permanently plugged in. Otherwise, you could look out for things like the Autel ms300, ms309 or AL319. There also similar offerings from XTool, Ancel, etc. My first scanner was an ELM bluetooth scanner dongle. Sold for less than $5. Learnt a lot with it!

Hi Noor, This tool can reset ECUs, it can also be used to replace an ECU. However, it will not reprogram(update) and ECU with newer software. It does not have capacity for a pass through device.

I haven't used the Thinkcar Thinktool (TT) but from my quick review online, the modular design does make it attractive as you can add on more features that the MP808TS does not support through the purchase of modules e.g videoscope, printer etc. It also claims to cover more vehicles. Caveat: out of the box, I did read you will only have softwares for 5 makes free. On face value, the TT does look better, however, I noted it appears to have fewer functions: 16 vs 30 in favor of MP808TS. One also has to look closely at update frequency in making decisions. E.g the MP808TS had 25 service functions, about the time I got it, but though updates, it now has 30+. Not saying it has the better update frequency as I am not sure how often TT releases updates. On updates, Autel is damn good. In all, it appears as though if you get all the advertised modules of the TT, you would be competing with a higher range Autel scanner not the MP808TS.

Watched the video. To be honest, I don't buy it. I think what matters most is using the right spec as I mentioned earlier. Something tells me they probably tested only with SanDisk and stuck with it. Compared to the MP808TS, the MK906BT has improved hardware & vehicle coverage plus added advanced ECU coding, wireless connection. Its also compatible with Autel's oscilloscope and inspection camera. However, note that the MK906BT does not complete TPMS services, while the MP808TS is a full TPMS tool that can be used to service the TPMS system of most cars.

Nice small kit with enhanced support for a number of systems and vehicles. Airbag, Engine, Transmission and ABS support. Also clears TPMS codes. It's just to ensure what you seek for in a scanner is covered for the cars you have in mind.

There are several variants of the Launch X431 so it depends. Generally, for the variants at a similar price point, they are comparable. I have never used a Launch so may not be in the best position to say. Some people say Autel is more user friendly which was a major determinant when I was making a purchase. The 'TS' in the MP808TS supports more functions. In all, I feel its down to preference and the cars you plan to use the scanner on. Some of the listed functions for both Launch and Autel are vehicle specific. Hope this helps!

I was able to use the odometer function on a 2016 Accord and it pulled the mileage both from the gauges as well as from the engine. In essence, this tool will detect an odometer rollback! I used just that to catch a dodgy car seller.
