Exiled Scouser here in Norway. I've got excellent lamb on a farm two minutes down the road from me, but I miss an Afghan colleague that I used to have breakfasts of stale naan and pink tea with. Really been enjoying the content lately. The tomatoes making the gravy has been a revelation for me.

It looks awesome and sounds really simple, so focused on just a few flavors. I know you said to splurge on lamb, but where I am, lamb is $13/lb, beef is $5/lb, chicken is $2/lb, and venison is free (if you're successful). Is there any other meat that could be substituted to develop a similar dish? PS: When are you going to do a methi chicken? PPS: Another quick question: what type of tea do you serve with your curries? I have over 3 dozen varieties from all over the world in my pantry. PPPS: And thank you again for sharing so many wonderful recipes and techniques.

This looks good but its more like pakistani style then afghani. Afghani is like a 1 pot, meat > then tomatoes > green chillis > black pepper/salt and ginger at the end. There is very little gravy. Never coriander n other bits.

@wazza13utd5 сағат бұрын
Bro latif, you’ve gone wrong on many things here, its traditionally made with mutton/sheep and also with fatty meat meaning rib cuts if you dont have chunks of fat as that is what gives it the flavour. you dont puree the tomatoes yaar, gives off too much water. I dont know which afghan place ever used tumeric in this dish, black pepper and chillies only. Has way too much gravy also. I guess you can call it your version as its far from authentic.

Is my English palate allowed to eat this? - I say because I really have a bone to pick with you over your comment about Asian palates being different to others. 90% of people I have raised this with find it wrong on your part........ You said - @LatifsInspired 2 weeks ago Most BIR is catered for the British English pallet however this restaurant still caters for the Asian pallet. Must try to understand it! You really made out that I and other non Asians can't appreciate or enjoy non BIR food. ALL my home cooked curry style dishes are authentic. I've been cooking them for 30 years. If I said something similar about your knowledge of British cuisine & your palate not being ready for it, I'd be label racist by the internet police! Just think about it please. I'm about 50 miles from your restaurant and would like to come over to eat and talk with you. All for the positive.
@honda.spares.man1Сағат бұрын
It isn't difficult to understand, asian people eat food heavily spiced and greasy/oily. Typically for people not used to it, it can be too heavy or spiced. British Indian recipes are milder. Myself, being asian can no longer hack it!
