I'm gonna be visiting this place this weekend mate. I love Bengali authentic food, reminds me of my childhood. Brick Lane was once a great place for curries but I must say that a majority of the restaurants here cater for those who don't know what original or authentic means, so this place seems like a dream to me. Thanks Latif because you also introduced me to the other authentic Bengali place near this one where I go every now and again when I get the curry fever. The prices are unbeliveable, most places are double or triple the cost. Nice one mate

Bengali food? Which ones do you like? Most of the food served in Bangladeshi restaurants is not Bangladeshi cuisine. It’s is predominantly Punjabi cuisine. They eat a lot of fish. A lot of bony fish.
@LatifsInspiredАй бұрын
@@fessali5726 Bangladeshi just don’t eat fish, and pakistani don’t just eat Daal! Alhamdulillah. However fishing is a staple part of Bangladeshi lifestyle and Bangladesh has so many rivers and especially the Bay of Bengal etc. I’m a British Bangladeshi and tbh I’m learning more about my cuisine and I’m still learning so trust me food is vast! We shouldn’t just stick to these stereotypes kinda things.
@fessali5726Ай бұрын
@@LatifsInspired so you are saying that Bangladeshi run restaurants serve the food they eat at home? Did you think I was born yesterday? It’s Punjabi cuisine. Very rarely do they have things on menu which they eat at home. Pakistanis eat daal. And they serve those dishes in their restaurants. They don’t sell Bangladeshi cuisine and call it Pakistani. Sorry if I offended you. It was not a personal attack. It’s a fact. I know many Bangladeshi restaurant owners. And I’ve got many Bangladeshi friends. I know what they eat at home.
@fessali5726Ай бұрын
@@LatifsInspired fish is lovely. Plus it’s their rizkhh from their lord. I wish I could eat bony fish. But I can’t. Again it seems like you’ve taken this as a personal attack against Bangladeshi people. It’s not their cuisine dear. It’s actually lahori (Punjabi cuisine). Not everyone from Pakistan east lahori cuisine. Pathan’s have a different diet. Many tribal and regional differences. But they don’t say it’s their food. Big difference.

I went passed a Bangladeshi restaurant going east of East London mosque, it was dirt cheap, they sell biryani for £2.99. It was fairly busy, with one table of tourists. I said what they hay to myself and went in. I did not get the £2.99 biryani but the £4.50 ones. I got Chop Biryani which had 1 chop but they added mutton curry on top, and mutton biryani where they added piya pieces on top. The rice was not basmati but rather the traditional rice used in Bangladesh for Biryani and this soaked up the sauce. £9 for two biryanis was amazing and they tasted fantastic. However, you would never take a date there - group of lads yes. I wouldn't get any of the meals on the window but what ever is on the display facing diners as they looked fresh. 100% recommend
