Humnnn. There is such a thing as over communicating, as well. I'm 68 very healthy, and have chosen to live as a hermit. I'm very selective about my relationships. Only family around me- on occasion. Daily while walking the dog I will have some interaction, some communication. I am good with life as I have chosen to construct it. I am an artist. This requires that I have very little interaction or communication in order to create the kind of work that is important to me. Guess I'll just fail your little absolute theory.

I'm 65, few friends, no family. I never intended that, but I'm content for it to be just me and my two dogs. There's far less drama and stress, a lot more "me" time.

some people are very easy to talk with, I am not one of those. But I've observed myself being more talkative when in conversation with such a person

The reason why some people are better at conversations is because some people actually bother to listen to what the other person says.

I guarantee if the professor conducts that same experiment but keeps the results anonymous, they will *not* all say that the other person was their "soul mate". They will be more honest. They were all under pressure to get along.
