OK guys, I got some requests, so here you go... I built a comprehensive sample marketing plan and I am going over it, step-by-step with an on screen demonstration! I've got a LOT on here--almost anything you could imagine/need to do as a traditionally published author.

This is awesome, thank you! I have a couple questions--would food/drink be added into the con/event budget somewhere or is that already factored in? And are many of these things tax deductible?

I considered adding a food/drink budget to the plan but didn't... but yes, it would be smart to include it! I am useless when it comes to taxes, honestly! I assume a lot of it will be tax deductable if you have a lovely tax person who does your writerly taxes... which I will be doing next year but have not done yet. :)

Nope! There are plenty of published authors who didn't go to college. One big one in YA is Adam Silvera. All you need is a great story, written effectively/well!

I'm thinking the real question is whether you need a degree in BUSINESS to be a published author. I have a similar feeling, watching this video. I'm still sizing up the situation, though. Maybe it's not as bad as it looks.
