Thank you so much for uploading your great run through of Virginia Woolf's books it really makes me want to read more of her books. I have read The Waves a couple of times and think it is amazing. The layers of meaning, the ground breaking style and the enjoyment of this book make it must read. I will read on with Orlando I think.

I keep wanting to delve more into Woolf. I just got a copy of Mrs. Dalloway, too. I should also note that The Hours is one of my all time favorite movies that I desperately need to get around to reading the book. Meryl Streep was breathtaking as Clarissa.I also loved Claire Danes as her daughter, too. Nicole Kidman as Virginia was superb and that's putting it lightly. Just a gorgeous movie all around. I watch it at least once a year, if not once every 6 months. I just get that urge! :)

Thanks so much for your overview; now I really want to read TO THE LIGHTHOUSE again! I have a few more of her novels that I haven't read yet, and then there's so much nonfiction, too...you could do a series of spotlights!

I just read the fantastic Orlando as my start and it floored me, it was a surprise present and I had not read her before. I went on to A Room of One’s Own!! I am now Hooked,

Great overview. I haven't read any Virginia Woolf and live stream of consciousness. I must remedy this deficit. I've resisted Fates and Furies, but might need to pick it up now with To the Lighthouse.

A ROOM OF ONE'S OWN is a great place to start. Also have to highly recommend the audio of FATES AND FURIES. Pretty sure I looked like a zombie that time I went to Target while listening to it. 😂

You had me in the first 10 seconds...I then raced ahead to see if you were dashed by the waves. That book is a struggle. I love Virginia Woolf and just posted a video for her birthday but the waves is still a struggle. Great comments. Fantastic to get more people to experience the humanities.

Yeah, THE WAVES . . . I really struggled with THE WAVES. I need to reread it now that I'm not under the weight of grad school deadlines and take my time with it. And I'll definitely check out your video!

I've returned to Mrs. Dalloway and To the Lighthouse again and again, but I've never appreciated Orlando or The Waves. I was tempted to teach Mrs. Dalloway next year, but for now, I've tabled that possibility. I'm not sure my students would really be able to appreciate it.

I will be always indebted to my prof who first introduced me to Woolf in undergrad. I get more out of her work every time I read it. ❤

Loved Dylan's sound effect of shattering glass at 9:15....or, at least, I assume that it was your intelligent corgi attempting to illustrate the destruction of the glass ceiling ;)

I love how you mention that The Waves almost seemed like she was on acid. I thought the same. Her whole idea of oneness in life is something that you experience on acid, and her novel seemed like she understood that to an exceptional level.

The first paragraph of The Voyage Out was also a clue that she could be funny.
