It’s answering a question the public is widely interested regarding someone the public had a fondness for. When drug addicts die from overdose on skid row, there isn’t the same loss felt by the public because they didn’t know them and there is virtually no question how it happened. This is not to say, the authorities don’t tirelessly work to investigate and prosecute the drug rings responsible. Imagine if they were to give press conferences like this for every homeless drug addict that overdoses. We be asking why the same story is constantly being repeated on the news every day all day. @user-jq1so5vd2i not the whole truth. Often people are given drugs for legitimate medical conditions, & never realize any risk, or realize they've become dependant until they try to stop it. That happened enough that the gov't went overboard. The " opiate crises" involved a lot of lies & politics. Now people who suffer after major surgery, or incurable conditions, even terminal illness often can't get pain medicine. It's cruel. But of course if you're rich like Perry was it's easy...

So he was a drug addict who sought out drugs, found the drugs and then overdosed on the drugs. If this was me, no one would care and the police would not have launched an investigation. At least this highlights the danger in substituting one drug for another regarding trying to become clean from drugs. SPOILER ALERT: The substitution method does not work and does not count as being clean. How was Perry to overcome addition by using another highly additive drug? The premise is ludicrous.
