I was going through a bad divorce. My husband WANTED to be a pastor, and he was a charmer at church, and emotionally abusive at home. I was too terrified to tell anyone at church, since they all LOVED him. All he would have to do would be to point out how "spiritual" he was, and how depressed and crazy I was "for no reason", and they all believed him. I finally left and had many hard years. But I am remarried now and so happy. No one knows how abusive he was behind closed doors. Every thought he had was from the Holy Spirit, and he pointed out that every thought I had was from the devil.

He announced her death after his sermon at the end of church and told his congregation not to talk about it in the church. It screams narcissist. Now the world is talking about it. I’ve had “those” thoughts since I was a teenager. I am a 42 year old mother. I am bipolar like Mica. Yes, it seems suspicious, but some insight - you ask anyone in my life even family and no one would ever think that I struggle with these thoughts fairly regularly. Outward emotions and plans, even hair appointments or happiness at jobs or feeling hopeful and looking forward to things does not mean that it cannot flip on a dime and turn very dark. Mica struggled outwardly and she likely struggled 10-fold inwardly to where no one saw. She was determined (exceptionally sadly) and a gun would give her finality, no out… unlike pills or another means, it would give her the resolve she was seeking. This is hard to digest for people that haven’t struggled with the depression that she and some of us do or have never had thoughts of self deletion. There’s a testimony of her up on Vimeo where she literally says she’s attempted “it” in the past with a gun but it jammed and that was God. JP is guilty of a million deplorable things for what he did to her, too many to list and I do believe he’s guilty of driving her to this.

Getting a divorce in SC is not a quick, easy process. You have to be separated for a year to have a divorce granted. It’s not exactly ideal when abuse is at play. Having to fear for your life, deal with tires being slashed, finding tracking devices on your vehicle, etc. for a full year trying to just finally be free of your abuser is certainly part of what led her to do this desperate move.

When was the last time you heard of a woman who shot or hung herself? It happens - but rarely, w. women tending towards less-violent methods than men, w. drug-overdose as (overwhelmingly) the method-of-choice. I'm not saying it's impossible - just unlikely. So unless this "clear & compelling evidence" is surveillance video recording the suicide, I'm unmoved by the conclusion - and that's after hearing the 911 call. I wonder where her husband was when she made the call? I wonder if it's even her? Who casually discuss a loved-one's suicide in the immediate aftermath - or sends sleazy text messages to a waitress, asking her to "send pics?" And replies with, "Nice!!!" A sociopath - or worse. I'll say there was, "a lot of darkness in her life." She has her tires slashed, finds a GPS-tracker on her car, changes her number 3x, and files a restraining order against a bizarrely behaving husband? Even if Pastor Strangelove didn't turn from loving-husband to stalker & killer (and statistics suggest he did), then who did those things? As I see it, there's 3 possibilities - the Man of God, an as-yet-unknown stalker, or Mica herself. In that order of likelihood.

He drove her to it. He was stalking her, stressing her out and she couldn't take it anymore. She probably felt this was the only way to get away. People can't blame us for thinking he physically did the murder with how he is. He still drove her to it though. She wouldn't have done this if it wasn't for his sadistic abuse and control. I know of women who have thought to do the same thing being worn down and never free, constantly under the stress of it. May she RIP. this is such a sad, terrible story.

He sounds like a douche, sure, but you can't call the guy a murderer if he didn't collaborate this outcome. Call him a controlling asshole, but saying he "intentionally" drove her to it is accusing him of something much more extreme than the actual truth, which so far, appears to be that he is just an ass. I'm not saying the accusations weren't justified based on his character, but the information is out now and it seems clear Micas decision was in the spur of the moment. Very sad :(

@@WitmerXL I didn't say he intentionally drove her to it, but his actions caused her so much stress that she got away from him the only way she felt she could. Terrorizing someone can have results like this. He's responsible for making her life miserable, so it is his fault for driving her to it. He knew what he was doing was causing her a nightmare. Hopefully the family sues him in civil court.

Sounds like he drove her to Suiside from fear and continued harassment. This needs indepth investigation. Alleged. How incredibly sad but common the woman is stalked and abused, for wanting to end a relationship. Women use the buddy system. Form a pack., document, changing phones 3 x says a lot and there are others who knew her who need to stand up for her. Coward Pastor should not get away with her feeling she had no other way to get away from this person. Now the world knows coward. Alleged. May she Rest in Peace embraced in the arms of Angels. Police need to protect women in these situations . This is too common. Women or men. Or any gender in our society inclusive. Abuse, manipulation, threats, stalking, forced drug use as she clearly highlights. Toxicology should check for traces. So much mote needs to be investigated, just as a high-school kid is bullied. A wife can be bullied and made to fear her life there was no way out. Cameras of the slashed tires etc. Alleged. Tragic loss.
