Interesting, I've seen a video about an English craftsman who uses these for clogmaking, he said that the bevel should be facing towards the worker, so that you could make concave cuts. This knife could do it of course, but you would have to switch hands. Delightfully sharp.

It's not a stock knife. The english term stock knife or "blocker" refers to a tool with the bevel on the underside used in clog making. I have once seen a large knife similar to this and my guess was that it was used as a general woodworking tool, not a clog knife so not a stock knife, whatever those generalists in the UK bodgers club call it. All said and done, that is a very, very fine piece of work.
