I'm trying so hard to get a diagnosis for autism, for me I love knowing what I have so I can understand myself better. Which is why I don't like when people tell me I don't need to get diagnosed and ask why do I even care so much to find out this stuff. It helps ME it helps me understand myself better. I just want people to understand that's why I seem "obsessed" with finding out this stuff

I have that a lot too, these videos mostly go a bit better as it are shorts but I have the tendecy to move to something else after 1 in the compilation is over. I have it stronger on intellectual topics im interested in and its in a format of 40 minute+ lecture style or just a person talking in front of a camera. What I tend to do if Im behind a computer and want to make it easier to keep listening is play a simple game on my other monitor. I tend to play games like cookie clickers where it doesnt need full attention and its becomes a organisation of upgrading things that makes statistics go higher, which mostly is just a few clicks everynow and then. Which is just enough to keep my extra attention busy while still being able to follow the videos. Might require a second screen and liking of games. But beware to only use those games as a tool dont go play them for any other reason. A favorite of mine is Realm grinder but there are many in the genre.

ohmygosh, the "write it down so you don't have to worry about it" tip? Is literally one of the whole-ass reasons I bought my current phone. Samsung Galaxy Note 20 (but you can get any in the note series or any with a stylus). Have a random thought you don't wanna forget? you don't even have to unlock your phone. Just pull the pen out from the bottom, write directly on your screen, and putting the pen back in the slot saves it to your phone's notepad. My phone notepad is constantly SWARMING with notes, the biggest one being my clock-in and clock-out times at work (which I just realized I haven't transferred into my work notebook for the past month). You can also draw comfortably with it! If you ever need to stimulate yourself a little and you like to doodle, you can just pull out the stylus and draw away to keep your hands occupied.

I struggle rn with binging and restricting bc before it was JUST binging and I honestly can't just figure out how to best keep my calories down without restriction. I portion control, I eat healthy, I require SO few calories to lose weight that I just can't do it.

You may have a food sensitivity. For me, figuring that out seriously changed my life. I had reduced my calories all the way down to ~900 a day and would still _gain_ weight, I didn't know what to do. After the pandemic hit, I decided to get help and started seeing a naturopath. She did a full hormone panel, and had me quit gluten. About a year later we figured out I needed to quit dairy too. I haven't changed anything about my exercise regimen, and I'm eating more total calories, yet I've finally lost about 35 pounds so far. The inflammation from my food sensitivities was making it impossible to lose weight. Now that I'm not constantly inflamed from eating food my body doesn't like, it feels safer to let go of the weight. Both gluten and dairy were also major binge triggers, so giving them up also helped my relationship with food in general. Wishing you the best and sending love. 💚

My dad 100% has undiagnosed ADHD and Autism (as both my bio brother and I) and I love that he switched door locks to a coded smartlock years ago I can’t wait until I get to see a therapist about my RSD. I hate it Edit again: A thing people who don’t struggle don’t know is that just because you have RSD doesn’t mean you feel entitled to nit be critiqued. I understand the need of constructive critique to become better, but it also makes me cry and feel like shit

4th lol. I’ve been questioning if I have a ~spicy brain~ the past few moths. I have an anxiety disorder and I’m worried that there could be more than that and knowing that I might not know something important about myself is terrifying. I’ve looked into so many things. Today, I was doing a lot of ADHD research.

If you're worried, the best thing you can do is go to a Dr. don't get too deep into Google and researching on your own until you go see a Dr. You may see things that aren't there.

I also have anxiety and I’m questioning if something else is there to it, too. I think I might be autistic specifically, but I plan to see a neurologist about it. Although questioning it doesn’t make me uncomfortable, since whatever I have, I have. I can’t change the cards I’m dealt, I can only learn to cope and deal with it. Instead of thinking about what you could have, focus on what’s tangible and what you know for a fact affects you, learn to cope with it. You know you have anxiety, so look into healthy coping mechanisms to make you feel better. If it doesn’t make you uncomfortable, see if you feel the same as neurodivergent KZbinrs and tiktokers, like having an aha that’s me moment. Make sure you listen to diverse sets of people that are not gimmicky and making a trend out of a condition. Simple things you didn’t know like, for me: how rolling eyes means quickly looking up, these things add up. Even if you aren’t neurodivergent, listening and relating to people who are is a ok; it’s good to have another perspective. /gen :)

Omgggggg for me i often misheard words. At first i thought its just hearing issues i start to suspect its how my brain process words which there are times when u talk to me directly my brain goes into "zoning out mode" which made me mishearing words.

Ok I know this was 3 months ago, but here's a few things I use to keep calm when overstimulated - earplugs. More of a preventative measure, but I got some noise-dampening earplugs from my sister (I think the brand was called Loop?) for my birthday, and I have never felt so calm when sitting on the train. - comfort items. Can really be anything, for me it's a chew necklace and a keychain that's actually one of those mood octopuses. I would use actual plushies, but given that I'm 19 it wouldn't really be socially acceptable :/ I do have more comfort items (a bodywarmer that gives a really nice amount of pressure, a very soft poncho, a fuzzy blanket, etc), but I usually don't have those with me when out in public. - going to a darker and quieter environment. This is always option number one in terms of importance, and can be anything from some shade under a tree, your own bedroom, a bathroom with the lights off, or just putting headphones on and pulling a hood over your eyes. Just as long as you feel comfortable. - animal interaction. This one is more subjective and it definitely doesn't apply to everyone, but I find that petting an animal (can be a cat, a dog, a hamster, a horse, etc) is very calming when I'm overstimulated. It might be because fur is one of my safe textures, but I find a great amount of comfort in cuddling something fuzzy. Hope this helps!
