I love how Abby bops when she's in the car. I like to rock out/dance to music in the car too. I keep telling my daughter she has to sleep too but she only listens some of the time. Jk. I know she can't help it but it doesn't make it any easier being sooo tired. We live in MD n my son wears shorts (n slides) when it's only in the 40's too but we're used to that weather. Kaitlyn n Kaidele are awesome. She's an awesome mom. The Wee family is awesome too. I love Braylee. She's so much like my daughter n around the same age. Lauren is awesome too. I think it's so awesome u guys all have come together n u guys all hang out.

I work at a vocational program, when training our staff about “shoe box tasks or independent activities” we always say once a person works and completes the task we don’t take it apart or have them take it apart because it’s devaluing.

Puzzles have been a great stress reliever for me lately. I usually start with a color doing a puzzle. 🧩 After I get all of the same color, I start putting those color pieces together.

That was great to hear. Kids work hard to put together. They didn’t like it when they had to undo it. I let the kids at my last job put what they did during opening play intact and when it was open play they could go back and finish. They knew at the end of this time play they had to take it apart for the next day. No tears or fit because they can start the next day if they choose to.

I’m an ABA therapist and I completely agree with not making her take the beads off of the string. Once she finished putting on the beads, that task is complete and she should be reinforced for that behavior. Now I would either take them off myself if the task isn’t going to be presented again that day or I would present taking off the beads as a completely new task after she was given her reinforcement for putting the beads on (original task presented). OR since it was an independent task, if you helping her talk the beads off is enough reinforcement because she is getting your attention again, that’s also an option. Just went through my head! It’s supposed to be fluid at home and I love your channel so much! I primarily work in home so it’s amazing to see families carrying out the skills learned through ABA being carried out when a therapist isn’t present. LOVE you Abbie girl!

Asa I love your light blue tee and pink shorts! My family owned a house in Ft Lauderdale area that they went to in NYC winters. I visited and often I flew down in in Winter. So often in fact that II had a wardrobe of "summer" stuff I left there. One season I went down in Feb. with no luggage.. just wearing jeans, turtle neck and winter coat. plan was to wear clothes I stashed down there. Well, it was COLD..It does warm up later in day. but I landed up buying winter clothes in a thrift store, wearing them all week and leaving that wardrobe down there. Especially if you live North you expect Florida will be warm in winter and sometimes.. It is not..lol.

It gives Abbie a sense of independent accomplishment. Everyone needs that not just Abbie. Look at some artists work, it makes no sense to everyone. We don't make an artist take apart their own artwork, instead we encourage them to do more and to get improve upon their basics and imagination.

Asa. I thought i would tell u this before but thought people might think im crazy. My idea is probably unconventional but its my own and has worked for me. I have found that when you hot glue fabric together and press it together firmly, a team of oxen cant get it apart. I have used it to reupholster many many things. Use some good gloves or tools so you dont get burnt as you press and hold in place until cool. Dont use tiny spots of it. Load it on.

Another thing you can do in regards to not taking a task apart after she completes it is to have her take it apart during a different work session. If she puts all the tasks together in the morning just put them away completed and when/if she does them later in the day she can then take it apart. In my program one student may put the task together and then another student will be given the completed task and they will take it apart. Not every task can be done both ways but it is an important skill to be able to undo a task. The most important thing is that she learns to not immediately take a task apart when she is done with it. It is a very hard habit to break once they start doing it and it can make things really difficult when she is older and working.

Can I make sofa suggestion? after spending years repairing children's soft furniture in Nurseries I've worked in I've tried many things and the fabric seams won't hold for long you need the strength to come from the entire back section not just the seam. Unpick the seams where the top of the cushion meets the back back and sew in some webbing straps a couple of inches apart (and they are going to take the strain) they need to be sewn inside using a matching upholstery thread, anything stronger will rip holes in the couch fabric. they need to go from the front top seam all the way to the back seam and down that back fabric section and attach to the back section and you need lots of them they will then take the strain instead of it all being on the seam. You can ignore I'm just telling you what I would do if I was repairing similar in a nursery and it will be visible so not suitable for your home or you might come up with better ideas for getting the strain off the seams now I've put that idea in your head.

Would be great when you all get done with putting it together; you could frame it and hang it up to remind us what we had to go though in 2020 into 2021. Great Job to Abbie with stringing the big beads! Also, that's a great idea for a dinner one night of making/assembling your own personal pizza. 🤗🍕💌💯

Try making your own pizza dough. It's really easy and I'm sure Abbie would love it as an activity. The kneading can help with controlling her fingers better, plus it's obviously edible, so win-win! An easy recipe for 2-3 people (no yeast, so no need to let it sit!): * 2.5 cups of AP flour * 3 tsp baking powder * 1 tsp salt * 3/4 cup water * 1 Tbsp olive oil Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Mix water and oil and slowly add to the flour mixture. You might need 2-3 Tbsp more water if it's too dry. That's it! Bake at 400°F for about 15 minutes. You can even make it without an oven!: Heat a little bit of oil in a pan, put in the flattened dough and let it brown for 15-30 seconds. Then flip, add the toppings and "bake" on low heat (or put it on the grill!) until the cheese melts. Credits go to Gemma ("Bigger Bolder Baking"), she has some really tasty and quick recipes.
