I appreciate that you use CC to make your channel more accessible. I don't personally use CC but I'm sure that those who do greatly appreciate having access to reliable CC. It's unfortunate that the available sources aren't reliable and that to get decent resources they cost a lot of money. That doesn't really encourage people to try to make things more accessible. Thank you! Love watching your vlogs :)

Super fun video. Everyone laughing & smiling. Great memories. Isiah & Summer are such wonderful young people. You can tell Abbie loves them & learns from them. I really enjoy the tone of the recent videos. Thanks for sharing. I’ve learned a lot by watching the videos, Hug Abbie for me. I sure wish I could hug my 9 year old grandson. He is on the autism spectrum & lives in Boston. I can’t wait for Covid to run it’s course. His dad, my son, is in the Coast Guard stationed in Boston, They bought their forever home there because of the excellent educational & therapy facilities. ❤️

My Mom was an educator with a double master and a PHD in Education and she always said... never give child more than 2 choices. It’s overwhelming for them. A or B allows them to be at choice in their own lives without making their parent/caretaker insane. Lol. PS Summer... come on, you could squash that snake with your shoe. Lol. Most snakes are harmless and are very beneficial.

@@NCJoMamaSC Two comments in a row you’re arguing with me as if I wasn’t in the room. It’s kinda bizarre to be honest. I’m a little confused as to why. I mean, she wanted Summer to come with her. That’s what she was telling her. I’m basing it off of what she was saying to Summer.

But it did make sense when you asked her what she wanted and she said break. Maybe consider she means being recorded.
@fatheringautism3 жыл бұрын
For lunch? If you’ve watched recent blogs she confuses the signs for open and break. They are similar signs. Open because she is requesting I open the pantry. She signs it every day in the kitchen.
@fatheringautism3 жыл бұрын
@@NCJoMamaSC So if she’s not mixing up signs but then I ask her if she’s saying open when she corrects her sign without being prompted to do so she nods “yes”. She is consistently mixing up break and open. You have to realize we see her all day compared to the few minutes in each vlog that you do. She has been mixing up the sign on and off camera. I don’t think people realize we go a couple days in a row without vlogging most weeks. We experience this stuff first hand in real life. Believe it or not we’ve got a pretty good grasp of what she’s communicating.
@gianicloset88643 жыл бұрын
@@fatheringautism maybe if you haven't yet try to come up with a sign for her for when she wants to stop being recorded. Hopefully she has the ability to say that and be heard.
@fatheringautism3 жыл бұрын
@@gianicloset8864 That would be a reasonable thing to teach her but I have to wonder why. She has never had an issue with it before other than wanting to just be left alone in general but that’s with or without a camera, doesn’t matter. She communicates pretty clearly with everything else so I don’t understand why suddenly people seem to think she isn’t understood in this one situation. It appears it follows a specific narrative that just isn’t factual. As to your last statement, her wishes are always heard and and respected. I don’t know why they wouldn’t be now just as they always have. I just don’t understand why this needs to be explained or why it’s even questioned. We put out enough that our parenting is pretty transparent.
@gianicloset88643 жыл бұрын
@@fatheringautism honestly ive watched about 20-25 of your most recent as well as older videos in the last week or two & i totally commend everyone involved for their level of patience transparency love and care for Abby. Thats all clear. Im not sure which narrative youre refering to I was just simply asking, given that shes non verbal , if you guys have offered her the option to request not being video taped. I'm not minimizing the great communication thats been developed thus far- and I know that these videos are only a small portion of what you choose to show. but being that this entire channel is surrounding Abby I just was curious if she had a "safe word" or "code word" for when she doesn't want to be on camera.
