Thanks a lot. I have a speech delayed 3y-2m and she does respond to her name but usually when she notices a stern tone. She does have eye contact but it’s not very sustained. She does have communication intent but only until a bitter failure of doing it herself

Hyperlexia is a huge red flag. Parents think their child is a genius because they can read at two or three years old. Yes, we usually have higher IQs than Neurotypicals, but it's a major red flag

Except for Hyperlexia 3. Kids with hyperlexia 3 can read at early age while their spoken language is lagging behind. They are not autistic. Look it up.

My child is 1year old and 3 months. I still cant see her intention to communicate with me and she doesnt have the appropriate play skills. Or is it still too early to tell?
@AgentsofSpeech
@AgentsofSpeech 2 жыл бұрын
A little early, usually children start using single words by 1.5 years old

@@AgentsofSpeech thank you so much for your response. That means a lot. I've discovered your channel last march 12, 2022. Eversince, I have tried applying what I have learned to my child. I have been teaching her the open palm gesture, he gets annoyed. But instead, she would tap me whenever she wants something. Yesterday, she started saying Papa clearly. Not just papapapapa babble but, papa, loud and clear. You are right when you said that they might get annoyed by too much talking so I've tried to choose my words carefully whenever talking to her. I have seen big improvements since then. Also, eversince I have learned about virtual autism in your channel, we limited the screen time to 5 minutes per day and now she's responding whenever we call her name, she now looks at us in the eye and smiles. I want to say thank you because you are helping so many parents like me. Please continue spreading positivity and hope. May you be blessed more.❤

So intent to communicate means that they are not using gestures either to communicate like hand leading ?
@AgentsofSpeech
@AgentsofSpeech Жыл бұрын
Communication intent means does the child want to communicate, in any way gesture, sounds or even hand leading

@AgentsofSpeech my 4 year old communicates in different ways except for speech. We hear her talking randomly but won't talk to us. She did start talking with speech therapy but regressed after a 3months break. My older daughter did the same but is 9 years old and talks non stop. Should I assume that she will start talking soon like her older sister?

My son is 2 years and 2 months old... He knows the alphabet and he can count 1-10, but still can't communicate verbally. If he wants something he will just point it or give it to me to open. He is also lacking in eye contact. Although he's looking at me when I call his name but not often. My husband and I are so worried. We are always praying that he doesn't have ADHD.🙏
