DISCLAIMER: Please refrain from making uneducated assumptions about an individual's diagnosis. You are allowed to express concern of whether you believe someone is faking or not, however, please refrain from leaving harmful comments regarding them. Autism is a spectrum. Everyone is different and exhibits different traits. You may or may not relate to these individuals and that is fine but do not assume that because you have traits that differ from them, they are not autistic! If an individual is proven to be faking or they have a negative reputation in the community, please feel free to respond to this post or private message me on my socials! Also for clarification: Autism as well as any other neurodiversities represented in these videos are on a spectrum! Everyone is different! Do not use these videos as a means of diagnosing yourself or even questioning your diagnosis! Everyone will have different experiences and struggles! You are perfect the way you are and do not define yourself because a lot of autistic individuals don't like a food but you do, or you like wearing socks compared to those who don't! Be yourself and accept that we are all different!

BRO if someone would have the AUDACITY to hand me back another pen than the one I lent out!!! ... I would say thank you - but be very, very, angry inside and keep that specific pen away from my other pens, and use it for people to borrow, so they never get their sticky hands on my pens again. Uni-ball Signo 207, Gel ink roller ball (best with my writing style). Black, duh. THE INK IS FREAKING SUPER-INK - WATERPROOF AND ARCHIVAL-QUALITY. Outta here with that blue ink notebook scrawl pen, I want my super-pen back!!

OMG yes. I have the exact same pen preference; they are wonderful! During the pandemic the black 207s went out of stock where I usually buy them. The substitutes I had to settle for ... just no, no, no. (I keep at least a dozen new ones in reserve, now.) As for lending them to anyone else -- I feel cornered and dismayed when I don't have a way to avoid it. I try to carry Bic Round Stiks specifically for others to use. They're inexpensive and adequate, and I don't feel bad telling the borrower to just keep it afterwards. The grip on a 207 always has an alien tackiness to it when they return it, even if they and their hands appear clean and they only touch it long enough to write themselves a quick note. But I can ALWAYS tell. (I also keep a few old 207s with the empty ink tanks removed, and I have on occasion transplanted the ink from a "contaminated" case -- but... yeah, I prefer not to hand over my most trusted tools in the first place.)

@RisaPlays

For me, I'm good at coming up with analogies, but quite often find other people's analogies confusing. Especially if it's something I'm not interested in, like sports and cars. I absolutely HATE that there's a car analogy in the adhd questionnaire. It pisses me off because my brain can think of two opposing explanations and it could have been worded far simpler. Meanwhile, I used a photoshop analogy to a doctor once to describe my vivid imagination and she asked a question that made it sound like she thought I was seeing things. So maybe the answer is just not using niche interests when coming up with analogies.
@kristenyarbrough4287
@kristenyarbrough4287 Жыл бұрын
Being good at analogies made me doubt myself too, but I always used analogies for myself in order to manufacture empathy for people, or to explain to others experiences they don't understand. (On second thought that's probably the most autistic reason to use analogies haha). That probably sounds weird, but if you use superlative analogies like "how do you feel when this thing happens? Now multiply that by ten and thats how that person in an unrelatable situation is probably feeling". It does help a lot.

Even if you don't have hyperfixations yourself, they will find a way to show affection or gift you with something related to all of the things you like the most or mean the most to you. This can result in an incredibly hyperspecific gift that nobody in the world could value on the same level but you as a way to show respect and appreciation to your individality.

my panic attacks and meltdowns have different symptoms, too! my panic attacks usually are just me balling up into a fetal position and crying (quietly or loudly depends on what caused the attack), and i might grapple onto something. autistic meltdowns are just me tending to be violent and loud. at least other people describe my "tantrums" as that. i just throw around my plushies and abuse them. i'm getting described as "angry" and "violent" at people who try to help ("help" as in get into my face and continue to yell at me for being so "mean")
@RisaPlays
@RisaPlays Жыл бұрын
I only realized recently that at least half of my "panic attacks" were actually meltdowns. A lot of my physical symptoms are actually the same, but the causes are different. Panic attacks for me are caused by specific fear triggers, while meltdowns for me just occur when I'm feeling overwhelmed. It suddenly made so much sense why I'd suddenly have a "panic attack" in the middle of the kitchen for seemingly no reason, when it was actually a meltdown because I was feeling overwhelmed by the clutter and not being able to find things. During a panic attack, I actively try to be more aware of my surroundings because it's caused by a specific phobia trigger. With meltdowns, I'm actively trying to reduce my awareness.

imagine thinking that your autistic child is the reason for your divorce when instead it was probably the sexist expectation that a child is only one of the two parents' responsability and therefore ovearloading one and making them resentful towards the other who is then resentful back because they think it's owed to them to never take care of or hear about their spawn.

Hey time to make me and other autistic people angry. Others are trying to get CIS AUTISTIC[someone who has it but dose not want autism] and TRANS AUTISTIC [someone who dose not have it but wants autism]seem normal. I can't imagine running into a trans autistic person as an actual autistic person. They run at me and I'm like ''Oh god IT'S AN ESCAPE SEQUECE AAAAAAHHHH''
