Awww! Such talent && a cute kid as well! 💕 (this was CLICK BAIT, or just a misinformed title because he is NOT autistic! - and to those of you saying - "it is a spectrum disorder, he is on the low end" - I have an educational background in child psychology && a BA in social work, thousands of hours volunteering w/Help Me Grow, have organized a 5k for Autism Speaks & Autism Awarness, I am currently employed by CHMCA (Children's Hosp Med Center) && have a 10 year old son with autism - this child fits NONE of the categoristic traits that would place him on the spectrum for Autism disorder.)
@music-ty5we4 жыл бұрын
That knowledge means absolutely nothing in terms of actually understanding by low end you mean more social and by disorder you mean spectrum it's a phsychological difference not a disorder your job is to find the idiosyncrasies with someone who has it or not rather then point out which parts are the disorder if you manage to group everyone who has it there it's easier for everyone to help each other he's more social so he can understand and help those who are less social in that context.
@Wolfie-xf5gw4 жыл бұрын
That is absolute rubbish
@shinu19234 жыл бұрын
Clearly that doesn't do shit for ya. I'm autistic, he clearly shows several traits just on stage alone. They're subtle but they're there. Also, autism speaks is an absolute shit organization that does nothing but harm.
@shinu19234 жыл бұрын
@@ekt01lbt Doesn't get her way like how? Typically what's percieved as ""tantrums""" in autistic people are actually moments of extreme emotional overload to the point of physical pain, which would be a meltdown. Tantrums don't normally last an hour, they usually only last like 10 minutes. Meltdowns, however, do last hours. And how is she rude and abusive? It would be helpful if you would explain further.
@shinu19234 жыл бұрын
@@ekt01lbt Well, then she isn't abusive nor is she rude. You see, when autistic people are in a meltdown, we can completely lose control of out actions. Sometimes we'll hit other people, sometimes we'll hit ourselves. Basically, every impulse we get gets amplified to 100 and gets wayyyy more intense, and it's almost like we go into a trance and act on it. We have no choice in the matter, which is why you should never condemn an autistic person for meltdowns and hurting people during meltdowns. Also, her wanting to talk about serial killers is totally normal for autistic people. That is what is called a Special Interest, which can seem like an obsession to some. Special interests are thing that help us navogate and understand the world around us. We'll want to talk about them a lot, and even if you find them gross, you should make an effort to talk about them with your sister. Refusing to talk about our special interests with us can make us feel really bad and feel like we're being mean to you, when all we are doing is talking about something we like that helps us understand the world around us, and those bad feelings can spiral into a meltdown. If talking about serial killers specifically makes you uncomfortable, instead of just saying "Change the subject", tell her WHY you don't want to talk about them, say something like "Hey, I wanted to talk to you about this, but can you talk about one of your other interests instead? Serial killers can make me very uncomfortable, so I would appreciate it if you could talk about one of your other ineterests with me instead." Open communication like this is vital for a good relationship with an autistic person, since we typically don't understand hidden meanings in things people say. Like, your sister could be interpreting "change the subject" as menaing you don't want to talk to her or spend time with her, instead of what you intend, which would be that the subject just makes you uncomfortable. Your sister is neither abusive nor rude, she's autistic. I highly recommend checking out @/MyAutisticSoul, @/Unmasked, and @/the.autisticats on Instagram. They are all recocources that I think you would beneift from checking out, they would help you understand autism a lot better.
