most normal people don't respond like Ellen showed us. for example in the first one with the pregnant daughter, if your daughter is pregnant and you find out like that the normal response is something more like "????" or "wtf", not "wait... WHAAAAAATTT?" It just seems super scripted. Maybe some of these were PARTIALLY real, but the producers most likely changed them up a bit.
