I think the best way to handle the situation is to hit it head on. May not look great for a prospective customer, but the guys who have a machine with this valve also need to know how to fix. Thanks Tom!!

Mr. Wolfe thank you too for being so conscientious about the balanced engineering of all the components of the products that have your name on it.trust me, i could not be more proud of my machine. thank you and each of your employees, they are lucky to be Wolferidge Manufacturing.

Chris I am glad you put up this video, really good info, unit 1703 was put in service 2 weeks ago and is running great, we had a couple hang-up's with the autocycle valve like you described but seems the more we use it and especially after it warms up she just keeps splitting with no issue, but now if needed we can adjust it correctly.

wish I knew more about those valves. we have an old TSC splitter that connects to a tractors hydraulics. the detent didn't stop and it either blew the quick attach hose off the back of the tractor or worse, blew a seal in the hydraulic valve. Had it fixed 3 different times and finally bought a whole new valve system. Came to your channel because my brother in Columbus bought your compact commercial model. he loves it. I don't. he puts us to work using it when we come to visit. haha.

This is exactly what mine does when cold or sometimes after it sits and idles for a minute or two while loading more blocks on the lift. It's annoying when it does it but hasn't been bad enough to get me to grab the tools to adjust. Great work as always Chris

Thanks for the info Chris. Last couple uses, mine has been running fine as far as the auto-cycle is concerned. Though I wasn't clear on what you were saying about the pressure adjust. I might need to do something there because on the forward stroke I think mine will go upwards of 13-1400 psi and I think I heard you say it should be around 1000. Let me know.
@WolfeRidgeSplitters
@WolfeRidgeSplitters 2 жыл бұрын
Typically we want the forward detent to kick out at 1800 psi. Since these valves are not kicking out properly, we have backed that down to 1200 to 1300. I do believe that over time they will work better, allowing them to be adjusted higher as they break in

@@WolfeRidgeSplitters So Chris it is normal to have to hold the lever from kicking off during tough splits? That does not harm anything?

Chris, as you know I’m a staunch Wolfe Ridge supporter. I currently am running my second one, a 28C with magnum package and the galtech valve. I haven’t had a problem with detents but I was a little disappointed with the slightly slower cycle times (one of the main reasons I upgraded from my 28 Pro). If Prince valves become available is it an easy changeout?
@WolfeRidgeSplitters
@WolfeRidgeSplitters 2 жыл бұрын
It is a little messy, but it can be done. I do feel that will get better over time as well. Cold weather really slows down the hydraulic oil as well. It will be close to a year before Prince gets us enough valves to allow us to sell retro fit kits.

Yes sir. There is a large 1.25" gold colored nut next to inlet hose. Inside there is a slotted screw. This is the kickout adjuster. CW rotation raises kickout pressure. CCW lowers the pressure before kickoff. Thanks!

Well, if those valves are built in the same “factories” as what I see in the Pakistani truck channel…yup there’s gonna be some QC issues! Are these actual Galtecs? I remember you saying walvoil and galtecs are owned by same parent company?? The valve section castings look different.
@WolfeRidgeSplitters
@WolfeRidgeSplitters 2 жыл бұрын
Sister companies using the same parts. I believe the detent cones were machined out of tolerance causing this issue. This after they sent assembly overseas, shipped 4 months late and charged me the air freight to keep them from being 7 months late and no available repair parts.... I had enough

To the best of my knowledge Galtech valves are an Italian product, if it's being made anywhere but Italy it's being outsourced in some way. Andrew goes on and on about how great Galtech is over Prince, I'm like meh.. I've seen Prince valves in service for over 20 years,you can't hardly kill them. If they spring a leak from the spool you change out 20 cents in o rings and motor on. One thing is for sure don't drink to much of that cool aid before you find out who made it.
@WolfeRidgeSplitters
@WolfeRidgeSplitters 2 жыл бұрын
We tested them before ordering and had great results. I really liked the ones that were assembled in MN. They worked right out of the box. Galtech is one part of a worldwide corporation, with a few brands and plants all over the place. Doesn't surprise me that they switched bigger production runs offshore, just wish they would have worked the way they were supposed to. Prince could use heavier duty handles and detents, but otherwise I have been happy with them!

The big Galtechs have been great. No issues whatsoever. I do think they are still doing the assembly in Red Wing MN on those valves. when the bigger production runs on the small valves got sent overseas is when we started seeing problems.
