Great video as always, Darren! Best find to date was about $500 in 20-dollar bills, all in the center console of a Tesla Model X. I know it was not a test, because the guy is one of my best clients. He just left in there, knowing we wouldn't touch it. Thanks for making these videos, I always learn something new.

I used to work with a business where I worked beside two other detailers and whenever a car would come in, they would take everything they found. They even took some guys took kit. Now I'm on my own, I can actually return items to customers. I really think taking anything at all is really bad for your business.

Great video Darren, this is a valuable lesson on integrity and yes covering your backside.A very important detail that has nothing to do with cleaning the vehicle. I have done a car that had a gun in it but I didn't know till after the customer had left.Some of my customers will clean their cars out first. I always have a box that I put all the contents in the console ,glove box, side panels ,under the seats in the pockets behind the seats.I only find coin change ,usually stuck to the cup holders and the floor. I did my pastor's son's car the other day and yes it was a trash can. I found an empty condom box under the seat,I do wear gloves! BTW ,I noticed the glove was torn on right thumb ,LOL

Hey Darren, I love your videos! Keep up the good work. Iv found $100 bill's on 2 separate occasions. The First time was under the driver seat. When I returned the money the customer said he was not aware it was under there. He mentioned he was getting together bonuses for his employee's and that it must have fallen under the seat. I believe it was a test but regardless we return all money and change found to the customer. On the second occasion, the $100 bill was simply folded sitting on the passenger floor mat in plain sight. When returned the customer said he did not know it was there as well. I'm certain that one was a test but who knows.

I recently cleaned out my vacuum and found a 50 dollar bill in it, I have no idea where it came from beside the obvious it got sucked up from someone’s vehicle somehow! 99.9 % of my customers are regular weekly customers , I’ve asked everyone if they were missing any money from their vehicles and explained what had happened and told them I didn’t want anyone thinking I was stealing but no one ever noticed any money missing but they all were appreciative that I was honest enough to ask.

Also did a truck had 2 ar15s 4 pistols and shotgun with a years worth of ammo. Lol C.E.O of a company said was his farm and hunting truck a new serria Denali nice farm truck lol but he forgot he left all those guns in there. Weird thing found like 3 years worth of subscription porno magazine lol

I was employed by a major transport company detailing their prime movers after returning from outback haulage. This means bulldust coating everything and injestedi nto areas you wouldnt beleive possible. For all the readers who aren't Australian, bulldust refers to the soil on outback tracks that has been literally crushed into a powder, usually finer than talcum powder, that hides everything from washouts to native animals. Not fun. The company owner regularly had me detail his numerous custom rods and prestige vehicles before club runs or important business meetings. He regularly kept 15k to 20k AU in $100 notes to purchase what he referred to as "necessities of life", under a storage area concealed in the custom made centre consoles. I found this purely by accident but never removed anything from concealment, nor spoke of it. I waited until he spoke to me. He admitted he didnt expect the concealed area to be exposed so easily, but once he noticed there was disturbance, but no removal of money, it became a test. Now, I have free run of his properties as I proved myself to be honest, and a substantial increase in clientele whom demand absolute discretion and honestly.

Excellent story and example! So many people underestimate just how much can be accomplished, and how quickly things can happen when deep trust is in place. You in many ways, can write your own ticket as the saying goes here in the U.S. Thanks for sharing!

Ive found 2,500 in an envelope, as well as two guns so far as i’ve been detailing, I always feel like its a test, then here and there always cash or change not big amounts I always leave obvious for them to see when they get it back

Ive found 2k cash in a camper, endless amounts of jewelry and a few bucks here and there. ALWAYS return what isnt yours. I even have sealable evidence/property bags for valuable items

I’ve found several hundreds on dollars, many different types of drugs, guns, jewelry, designer sunglasses, ect. Always be honest and inform the customer right away to avoid any type of situation 👍

I only came upon quarters, dimes and pennies and always put them in their cup holder or on the seats where they can find them!! You have to be honest in this business or you will fail!!

Always Always ALWAYS bag and give to the customer, I don't care if its a 4 pennies that I pull off the carpet. It's always in the bag. Old receipts that are a year old gone...but if its a new receipt or odd items, they go in a darker bag that nobody can see in and give it back. I inform them you're personal items are in the paper bag, etc. I've found second wedding rings, business cards for questionable service providers and websites. Couple of guns, rubbers, roll of cash, panties in a door pad pocket...she was decent looking at least. :)
