Two compelling BNSF trains traveling eastbound up main track 1 at Cajon Junction!
Cajon Junction is the former site of the Cajon Depot, which closed the 1960's. Our first train is a BNSF Auto-racks, eastbound on main track one at Milepost 62, Cajon Subdivision. Featuring Montana Rail Link Locomotive 4301 SD70ACe. A long lash-up an impressive sight as it travels upward into Sullivan Curve. The second is a high priority BNSF Z Train, with six locomotives and built for high speed once reaches the Mojave Desert.

Nice catch on that Montana engine. Nice and slow autoracks are what I hope to see every time I go out. 2nd train, Lots of power!! That spot is so relaxing. Not too far away, but TONS of traffic.

Finally I remember asking Keith if he thought those vMRL locomotives would make it out west and there one is. Love that paint scheme one of the best in my opinion. Thanks Keith . Those ACEs have seen some heavy work over the years hauling coal over the Mulan pass.

@@cajonpassrailroadfans There is a video on youtube showing 4 or 5 of those mid DPUs MRL ACE's getting a coal train back running on a 2.2 % grade from a dead stop due to a broken Knuckle. Truly impressive.
