The Mad Maggie 'auto reload' only works if you get the knock with a shotgun (Eva doesn't count). So if you have a non-shotgun and a shotgun, hurt them with the shotgun and then knock them with the non-shotgun, your perk doesn't work. *edit* The eva also doesn't trigger her 'warlord' perk that lets you run like you didn't have your gun out. So you'd want to run with the PK out to use her passive in the eva/pk setup.
