Thank you, Andrew K. NI. And that's a good question, but unfortunately, we don't know. It would be interesting to know if this Sonata was designed as a world car or just for N. America. Thanks for watching!

Another home run for Hyundai! I love rooting for the underdog, but looks like I won't have to root for Hyundai for too much longer cuz they've been hitting so many home runs the last few years with their offerings. This Sonata is so stylish and upscale looking for the price and a great value. I hope the new 2.5L 4cyl proves with time to be a good engine. I don't really see the point of the tiny turbo 1.6L, given the power output is so similar. The 2.5L likely feels snappier off the line due to the absence of turbo lag.
@AutoAcademics
@AutoAcademics 4 жыл бұрын
The engine choices for the Sonata are interesting to us, as well, palebeachbum. The 1.6L does make more torque which we can only assume helps the car feel more useful on the road, even though there weren't any 2.5L available to drive at this event. We also know that a turbocharged version of the 2.5L will be used in the upcoming N Line, making 290-hp and 310 lb.-ft. of torque, so Hyundai's trying to offer a few engine choices for the Sonata.

First, thank you very much for your support, GottahaveFaith. We truly appreciate it. The exterior color if the Limited Sonata we drove was called Hampton Gray and the interior was just called Gray. We don't know the name of the other interior that we features, but if it's anything like the car we drove, Hyundai might just call it Beige or Tan. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

3 simple things that I'm trying to wrap my head around is 1. Why does the passenger seat have no up and down function? 2. Why no heated back seat? 3. Why no back window sun shade? I have a 2016 limited and it has all of the above. I really dont know why they eliminated these functions on the 2020 limited.

Looks really nice! The Limited you are showing has MSRP $34,230. I try to avoid tight parking spaces and park away from other cars so they wont nick my car and have never yet had a need for that parking assist. Maybe it is a bit much?. While I like the idea of using my phone to unlock and start, I would find it most inconvenient if I have to actually get it out of my pocket to function. A proximity key can be left in my pocket and seems a more practical solution. No heated rear seats on the Limited?!? Only 180HP on Limited's 1.6Turbo but good mileage numbers.

Hyundai's are very underrated cars. If the consumers give them more of a chance, they would give Toyota, and Honda a run for their money.

I just test drove this one and the 2020 Honda Accord hybrid exl Both very different, but which one do you think is better?
@AutoAcademics
@AutoAcademics 4 жыл бұрын
That's tough, as we haven't driven them back to back, miguelnation87. Both are good cars and offer similar tech, with the exception of the Sonata's new parking features. We like the Sonata's new styling (from most angles) better than the reserved Accord, and Hyundai has a better new car warranty, but both are really nice vehicles.

No CVT? I like it.
@AutoAcademics
@AutoAcademics 4 жыл бұрын
Nope! Can't be mad at it at all, pedro fernandez. Hyundai seems to have a different transmission for every application and it works!
@captainjack6890
@captainjack6890 4 жыл бұрын
CVT’s by their nature are pretty ideal for small displacement turbo charged engines, in that the transmission naturally keeps the engine in the ‘sweet spot’ for the engine. But, since auto journalists hate it so much and poison the buying public’s mind, manufacturers in turn hardly put much R&D or effort into making them. Toyota and Honda are now going CVT. Honda makes a brilliant one for the Accord. Classic case of Engineering being shafted due to poor journalism. This reminds of when Audi turned up at Le Mans with a Diesel engine and tore the place up and won everything. Same Diesel engine journalists hated so much.

Depends on what f you want a car or a crossover, Curlene's Life NYC. The Sonata definitely has more available tech than the Tucson, but if you need the capability of a crossover, that might be more important to you. We're sure whatever decision you make, it'll be the right one for you. Thanks for watching!

In 2016 I bought an used Sonata Hybrid Limited plus tech pack from 2013. The car was BEAUTIFUL, the only problem was with the lock system and they fix it. Now....when I reached the 60K miles, the price of the service was 1,000 Usd. The cheapest one I could find was 700Usd. I am sorry but If I can not get maintenance service included in the promotion, etc...I will not get a Hyundai again.
@Anon1mous
@Anon1mous 4 жыл бұрын
Most of those 30k, 60k, 90k maintenance packages are scams. If you really look at them, they are comprised of a bunch of checks and inspects. Very few items are actually replaced. And the items that are replaced, you can do yourself. Just keep driving it.

The new Sonata has way more tech if you're in to that, Not_Joe. The Mazda may have slightly better driving dynamics, but the Sonata still drives well. For me, tech plays a big role in the car experience when the driving experience is close. Think of it as living in a fancy house with no TVs or internet versus living in a slightly smaller house with up to date technology. Not sure this is the best analogy, but it's all I could come up with right now. LOL. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

I am Korean but I don't understand. In South Korea, the Korean government instigated boycotts of Altima, Camry, and Accord made in the United States. Why buy Sonata
@AutoAcademics

We don't have the same restrictions here in the U.S. and in spite of what the Korean government does, the Sonata is a good car with a strong manufacturing presence here. A lot of people are employed by Hyundai here so I guess it's a win-win for us. Thanks for sharing and for watching!
