Randy, I was born in '81 and the same year my dad bought one of those Toyota trucks. Thanks for including it in the video, brought back so many memories! Awesome little truck. My old man is turning 70 this year and apart from a '98 Land Rover Defender and the '81 Hilux, he still has all trucks he had since the '81. A '92 Isuzu, '98 Hilux, '05 Hilux and a '19 Hilux.

22R is a bullet proof engine. The work horse of early Toyota's. I'm not sure, but the pickups I think had a low pressure low volume electric fuel pump and there was an inline fuel filter.

I have one question. The beamer, the 5 series, the last one. When you said you "sent it to copart", did you sell it to them, or you just gave it up? Cause, honestly, it looks like it can be driven for quite some time further down the road. Why didn't you sell it? Did you suspect a head gasket issues because of the "smoke"? Was that the reason you gave it up? Genuinely wondering, because it looks very nice

The infiniti window keeps going back down because it's a safety feature, it senses something in the tracks. Gotta hold the button half way so that you don't engage the automatic feature And the spark plugs are not hard to change but time consuming because you gotta take the intake manifold off

If you plan on flipping the Toyota pickup, you can't bid any more than $1200. You might be able to sell it for $3000 once it is fixed up. $500 profit + $1200 bid + $500 Copart Fees + $500 parts to fix (Windshield, fender dents, drivers seat, fuel pump, paint bumpers) + $150 tax/title/reg + $50 Liability Ins (2 months) + $100 for oil change/spark plugs/air filter/coolant flush = $3000. This is assuming there isn't anything else wrong. Brakes, transmission, suspension, A/C, etc. There are quite a few hail dents on the roof of the cab and rust on the A pillar. The tires look good.

I might consider the Infinity. The interior needs work but I might be motivated to take the risk. I would stay away from the BMW since you have concerns. I like the Toyota pickup but I would not buy it for resale because of the body work that needs to be done. I do not believe you would make a profit on it. I would only buy the Toyota pickup if I had a son that needed a vehicle. Would be a good first vehicle for him and a good father-son project.
