Loss of "high gear" - sounds like a "fluid pressure" problem - it takes 2x the pressure to go into reverse band (which normally is a forward band moving in the opposite direction) then high forward band. I'd check the "viscosity" (feel/color) of the fluid & change the "screen" before writing it off.

So on the drivers side of the transmission (700r4) theres a governor, most likely in your case you broke the gear itself (5 dollar part on amazon), also the valve could be sticking if theres some gunk in the fluid. The governor lets you shift into 2nd gear basically, without it you only get 1st and reverse(know from experience). Also in your video you say you had second but from looking at the RPM's and speeds you're only getting first.

Randy, CHECK THE A/C! In these older GM cars, the cooling fan automatically comes on whenever the A/C is on, even is it’s on very low... especially is the A/C-blower motor does not work, you won’t know that the A/C is on, but the cooling fan will still come on! Now that may NOT be the issue, and ppl (especially in Florida) will Hotwire the cooling fan due to overheating in traffic during the summer. I remember when I was a porter for a summer at a Chevy dealer back in 85, those tuned port engines wouldn't start when new either after sitting a while. The mechanics showed us a trick. To loosen the ring holding the sparkplug wires on top of the distributor and lay it loosely on top of the connections which forced the current to jump accross the gap creating a surge of current which would allow those engines to start. Hope this hack helps.
