@@AutoAuctionRebuildsOBD1.5 is ALDL using the J1962 jack. It's really kind of a strange Critter cuz it's not OBD1 or OBD2. You can talk to it with a Tech 2 or some of the old Snap-on Tools with the magic personality keys. Supposedly the launch 431 will talk to OBD1.5 as well but I've never done it.

It was probably the bad gas for the most part. One thing I'd check out is the MAF to see if it's dirty. I had a 95 Grand Prix that did the same thing with the sputtering and hesitating. Cleaning the sensor fixed it.

In diagnosing this, the choices are ignition or injectors. The easist thing to do is to put a gauge on the fuel rail to see what is happening with the fuel pressures. Your are already into the italian tune up which is dealing with potentially clogged (or poor spray pattern) in the fuel injectors. Perhaps changing the fuel filter?

@clarkleakins8798 ай бұрын
Suggest that you replace the fuel pressure regulator. I had same symptoms for about 3 months in the same vintage pontiac engine. Very intermittent check engine light. Eventually, the car would not start. Mechanic tested fuel pressure and found that it was failed. After replacement at 165,000 never a problem. The water pump blew at 110,000.
@mph58968 ай бұрын
If you pull off the vacuum line to fuel pressure regulator, it will spit fuel out if bad. If its bad It will cause the engine to run rich and pull fuel out of the fuel trims.
