There’s definitely two main camps on snow foam isn’t there, if it’s thin it needs to clean well or if it’s thick it needs to dwell like the process you used here. I’ve traditionally preferred this long dwell type and I’ll do my wheels or potter around getting wash buckets ready while it’s dwelling. But see the benefits of the quick prewash with gt/Bilt Hamber types too. Nice to have both options on the shelf 👍🏼

It is mate, I'll be honest I was always the opposite, more interested than good cleaning power over dwelling but I can definitely see the appeal now

Magifoam was the first product when I got in to detailing many many years ago and before I realised what snowfoam is for. You are right to say that it is of its time and more modern variants do a better solo job this still holds a place for me. So much so I bought 5 litres of it!!!! I don't recommend two inches in the bottle of their snow lance or a MJCC one - Jesus, You'll have snow on the ground for bloody ages with eskimos looking to squat!
@SparkleanAutos2 жыл бұрын
Haha no, the MJJC was always a no-go, going by this one's reputation!! And there's nothing wrong with an old-school product 👌🏼 Cheers Chris

So, do you have a pre-wash shampoo that you recommend?

I think you have found a winning combo here mate. I've never used magifoam but that dwell time smashes anything I've ever seen! I really like the look of that anachem foam lance, looks a sexy piece of kit! I will be checking that out 👍👍 great video as always, showing what can be achieved by using a product to its strength rather than expecting it to do things it wasn't designed to do 😁

Can see how there would be a benefit to this, I remember the days of having 3 or 4 hours to clean the cars on a Sunday! Personally, not my cuppa tea.. but I genuinely feel very differently about the AF citrus so I’m happy with the 10 min dwell using it and the AF watermelon snowfoam on top..does a cracking job on both motors-even on the bugs and carnage that I have with 90% motorway driving 👍🏻

Those days will return lol (in about 5 years 😬🤣) I'll have to give the watermelon snowfoam a try then, coupled with the Citrus Power 🤔🤔 👍🏼

Using this definitely changed my perception - does it always have to be about cleaning power 🤔 Maybe products like this help the pre-wash dwell for longer, maybe not. Maybe they help keep the panels cooler, maybe not 🤷🏻♂️ Either way, maybe there is some satisfaction in using them even if they have no real cleaning benefit 🤔🤔🤔
@jezlucas3878 Жыл бұрын
@@SparkleanAutos Well magifoam is better than just jet wash, but agreed can hold on apc well, but not done as long as you have. Been playing about with doing prewash twice with great results but with magifoam holding on so long why do we rinse off so quickly. At the weekend rather than a double apc blast iam going to really leave it as long on there as possible, will get back to you on this. Will try to compare a double apc/rinse to a apc/foam and mega long dwell .

It's just not Tuesday without a Sparklean quick test. This was my favourite quick testTuesday, mainly because I have the AD Magifoam and the AD Lance and used them recently, I was underwhelmed, barring the dwell time. I didn't use a citrus underneath and seemingly should have. I will use up my magifoam but in the way you have shown, not as a standalone. However that does mean there's an additional cost, i.e., 2 products, is that necessary nowadays, when there are snow foams that can clean as well? Great video Mark, thanks.
@SparkleanAutos2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Lee, almost didn't get this one out in time (very busy week!) But I'm glad I did!! You've made a very good point re the cost, although I think a product like this is definitely more suited to a Sunday hobbyist - someone who's more interested in a relaxing Sunday morning car pampering session than calculating the cost per wash 🤣

Would have been interested to see what Mageefoam did on it's own over 30 minutes, if it was better than the original 8... Always found it decent but not outstanding and not the easiest to rinse away post wash... I've had it Still on the driveway the following day 😵💫
@SparkleanAutos2 жыл бұрын
I thought about that Jon but then I thought, if it hasn't cleaned after 8, I don't want to waste another 30 minutes, to then have to go in AGAIN with a decent cleaner 🤣 life's too short... Some foams aren't there to clean I guess! This wouldn't normally be my type of product but I can see the appeal after using it. I just wouldn't rely on it for cleaning!

Nice video Mark, bought a couple of Autobrite foam lances off Amazon at £27 each , good quality Italian made. They both came with 500 ml of Magifoam was going to give it away , going to give it a go next wash day . Missing to mitt flipping though lol ! All the best :)
@SparkleanAutos2 жыл бұрын
The mitt flipping and proper editing will return lol just very busy in real life atm 🤣 It's great for dwelling but if you've a dirty vehicle to tackle, put a good citrus under it first!! 👌🏼

I bought 5l of this for £20 in one of their sales and I came to regret it because to get a decent amount of cleaning from it I had to add a considerable amount of product and when used through my mjjc lance it was ridiculously thick even dialled back and would create a foam blanket so thick on the drive my neighbours thought I was having an Ibiza foam party.! The record for it staying on my drive was 3 1/3 days! As you found it's only really good with a citrus underneath it. Keep up the good work sir 👍🏻
@SparkleanAutos2 жыл бұрын
🤣🤣🤣 I can't imagine using it the the MJJC 😬😬 It's definitely not the same type of product as GT ONE Snow Foam or Bilt Hamber Auto Foam but, to give it its dues, it doesn't claim to be! Love the simplicity of these quick videos Mark. I see your also trying to do a GM Details with your legs out yet it's nearly Xmas 🤪. With regards to Magifoam it's defo one to have in the tool box. It was my main go to between that and GT v1 through the summer but since v2 launch I must admit I do like the wetter foam again. I used the last of my Magi yesterday on a final rinse down and i did find it tedious on the rinse. Maybe one to save for me for the summer under a citrus

Using a IK foamer I find its one of the better foams to apply in this way. Of course I dont get that 30 mins of dwell you will with a lance but plenty enough to get my wheels done .Its difficult to comment on cleaning as my car rarely gets overly dirty but as you did with their citrus underneath it certainly does enough .If Im washing say my wife's car and its that dirty I will take the kit the local BP garage to use their lance with no access at home to do so and left to dwell there and blast off it cleans ok without being fantastic but then using a foamer you expect that.I do hope to get a foam gun set up at my parents house in the spring......if I can afford to power it up

@@SparkleanAutos Yh I understand, I was surprised with the dwell time with that, what I have noticed is when you got a stick ceramic coating then the dwell time for the foam is always less, especially if it’s not that dirty as well,The foam just starts to slide off, One product if there’s which I do like is the AutoBrite Abyss synthetic paint and trim sealant, I haven’t tried it as a paint sealant but as a trim sealant it works really well and it’s a trim dressing and sealant, you only use a tiny amount and it’s really good, the engine protect trim cleaner and dressing is ok and the green correct it enrich polish is also ok, I still think the Angelwax polishes are the best ones out of the UK brands and Angelwax’s polishes are actually right up there with Koch Chemie, Carpro, Gyeon and Rupes, maybe polishes are not suitable for a quick test video but maybe we will see some on your other videos
