Autocar WXLL Labrie Minimax Violently Lid Flipping -Garbage Truck

Now this was fun to film! As we all know this funky little machine is cool in general, but our friend Gerardo has made this cooler! What I didn’t find out till earlier before hand was that this truck can flip the crap out of lids. Wouldn’t surprise me if a Rehrig lid went flying into the forest lol. What’s also great is I just got news that someone from Labrie is going to come out to Ukiah to fix this beast up so it keeps running longer for years to come. Now sadly Gerardo left WM and his minimax route along with it, however he just went one company over to C&S where he is now a commercial driver and yes I already have a video of him. Now I haven’t met the new guy yet so hopefully he’ll be chill cause let’s face it, this truck deserves an intro. Hope you guys enjoy!

Nice catch, I miss those mini spilt body trucks, back when I lived in Walnut Creek, California, these mini trucks would collect on all the small residential streets, and each split body did both recycle and yard waste, brown was recycle and green was yard waste those were the colors for WM, and it was cool to see all the different cans that were still there from the early 90”s and 2000”s, Republic had blue for trash, and they were all mixed with old allied waste,and BFI carts which was cool, unfortunately republic services who originally was only doing the trash at the time won the contract out in 2015 for all of lamorinda, Danville, Alamo, Walnut Creek and now collects all three bins, but I wonder if they still use these wm trucks in the Oakland hills, that would be a good catch to find, 👍

Thanks for the comment! Yeah this truck came from Walnut Creek along with a couple out full sized trucks. Interesting that they used the split. They don’t use the split here cause one of the packers in broken, by maybe that’ll change when they fix it. Glad you enjoyed!

So I totally remember when these trucks were purchased brand new for the Vally WM yard in Walnut Creek for the “Hard to service” routes in the hills of contra costa county. They got two of these minimax’s, and they also had got a mini expert 2000 helping hand. This truck was Roberto’s, 152838 was the expert and was Marco’s, and the one on my route was 839 and Jesus drove it. Great to see these little rigs still on the road doing their jobs.

Thanks for the comment! Yeah not sure where 838 went, there’s rumors that it might be in Ft Bragg, guess I’ll have to see a trip out there. Very interesting about the Expert 2k. We’re actually having someone from Labrie come out to Ukiah to fix up this beast. Glad you enjoyed!

Awesome video! Such an obscure arm, I’m very surprised WM didn’t get this with a different arm but I’m definitely not complaining either! Those lid flips were insane too, fantastic video!

Ukiah had an awesome fleet. This one is no exception. Great to see it documented! Any idea where it went after Ukiah shut down?

It was hauled off on a flat bed before about a few months before WM lost the contract. So I’m not sure but probably sent off for scrap
