Are you able to recommend a product to protect fabric interior (alcantara) from spills etc. previously had leather for as long back as I remember. Read about dodo juice fabricababra being good value for money. Any recommendations greatly appreciated. James

I had a Golf as well for many years (it looks like the one in this video is an Mk7 which mine also was, although mine was a performance model). Mine still smelled of new car at the 3 year mark (without using an air freshener) - people used to comment on it when I gave them a lift. Granted I didn't have a pet but my car was my joy and pride and it makes me sad to see someone treat a similar car so roughly. I'm amazed at the transformation you carried out. I hope the owner takes better care of the car going forward! (A close friend also had a dog that he loved taking for long country walks and hikes, but he had blankets and towels to protect his car, and cleaned it regularly - so doing better by the car is definitely possible...)

@@AutoCareHQ the dry vac you use, is that a Henry or a George? I was doing a car with my old Vax 6131 the other week and even that needed to take it's sweet time - you get to a point of diminishing returns (and diminishing affiliate links!) don't you. Although....I wouldn't mind trying a Mytee.

It's me again - a regular follower of all Your vodeos. I see You using the nozzle of the vacuum (crevice toll) like I did in former times, too. "90°" straight onto the carpet. After carefully watching #Carcleaningguru and his videos I relaised me doing it ineffectively like that. He always holds the nozzle at a flat angle towards the surface so that suction flow is enabled and "scrubbing" is avoided. Works a treat! One never can stop learning to make things easier and less exhaustive ...

I remember you telling me you was going to tackle a filthy interior, when I asked if you had done any bad ones. I always used to swear by (although that ODK seemed to make light work of the plastics and probably more economical) using anti anti static foam cleaner such as Electorlube Caterclene, although Toolsation sells some with nice apple scent. I was thinking about the Tornador tool as I also watch Gaz from Autoshine, and it certainly helps him. I probably never go as thorough for an interior clean, but found using a steam cleaner with a brush seems to give good results on the seats and if the carpets aren't too bad, makes it look like you've done more than vacuum. Oh and got some rag company ftw cloths, and even with Sainsbury's window cleaner I've noticed a much better result so many thanks!

cracking job, its the one job i hate doing the most when detailing. I'd suggest the owner gets a cover for the rear seat for the dog, saves doing this again down the line. bet the exterior needed a quick detail also!! 👍

Thank you! Try not to oversaturate the surface with the chemical and use a microfiber cloth to get it as dry as possible after cleaning and you should be fine :)
